Show Me the Money

By Judie Brown

The old saying “money is the root of all evil” takes on special significance when we are talking about the organizations and people who identify with the business of killing innocent preborn babies.

Joe Biden has chosen to use tax dollars from the COVID fund—to the tune of $750,000—to enable the Alan Guttmacher Institute to fund “research that will reinforce the Biden administration’s radical abortion agenda.” The money—our tax dollars—was awarded “under the premise that the abortion industry experienced ‘service disruptions due to the Covid-19 pandemic and shifting policies and priorities’ that require remedying. The money given to Guttmacher is just a small fraction of the $6 million HHS promised to nearly a dozen of research organizations for data on expanding abortions in the United States.”

According to a Live Action article, Biden’s foot soldiers are

committed to pro-abortion activism and [are] employing federal agencies to challenge, roll back, and get around state pro-life laws. Shortly after the landmark Supreme Court decision, President Biden issued an executive order designed to expand the abortion pill; create an interagency task force to promote more abortion; provide increased incentives for federal employees, military members, and veterans to obtain abortions; and provide millions of dollars in federal grants to family planning groups. The president also marked Women’s Equality Day with a speech lamenting the Dobbs v. Jackson decision and issued a flurry of initiatives led by the Department of Health and Human Services to push abortion.

It has gotten so bad that the Biden administration’s abortion zealotry is being embraced by those from the other side of the political aisle. Case in point is Congressman Lee Zeldin who wants campaign support, even if it means more dead babies. He said: “The abortion law in New York, which was passed a few years ago, codified far more than Roe. . . . When we woke up the day after the [Supreme Court] decision, the law in New York was exactly the same as it was the day before. Nothing changed, and I’m not going to change it.”

It seems that in Republican Lee Zeldin’s case, as well as in countless others, the money does the talking. A cadre of wealthy folks support Zeldin who expects billionaire support to continue through November 8, election day. Zeldin, who it is claimed was once pro-life, appears to have switched sides so that he can rake in the dough.

Chameleons are apparently not only lizards that crawl on the ground; some have eerily human characteristics as well.

Yet while it is interesting to focus on politicians and their changing ways, there are millions to be had in the abortion industry as well and groups that are all too willing to become fatted calves.

According to its reports, NARAL Pro-Choice America has $7 million in assets.

Planned Parenthood’s 2020/21 annual report shows an income of $1.7 billion for 2020/2021 and 2.1 billion in assets.

The Center for Reproductive Rights reported $34.11 million in total support for fiscal year ending June 30, 2021. In addition, it reports $28.8 million in in-kind services such as legal fees for which they were not charged.

With all that money comes an equal amount of hubris.

Given the alleged victory that was supposedly achieved with the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, one might think the abortion game is over, but that would be terribly wrong. Abortion providers are devising new ways every day to work around the decision and carry on as though nothing had happened. For them the Dobbs decision was a speed bump in the road.

But pro-life people have something far more valuable than dollars on our side; we have truth. No matter how much money the bloodthirsty rake in, the power of God dwarfs it all! And therein lies our path to victory for the babies.

The death peddlers will say show me the money, but we respond show me the power of God any day, and I will show you victory.
