Obamacare Suffers a Blow!

Virginia attorney general Kenneth Cuccinelli’s anti-Obamacare lawsuit has resulted in a small but mighty first step in undoing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson has made history as the first judge to agree with the majority of Americans that Obamacare takes a wrong turn when it comes to how the government should be involved, if at all, in personal decisions of Americans regarding their health care. The president’s “father knows best” approach is headed downhill. This downward step may be slight, but the direction is a positive one.

Cuccinelli brought the suit in defense of his state’s new law that prohibits the federal government from forcing state residents to buy health insurance. In Cuccinelli’s suit, “the key issue was [Cuccinelli’s] claim that the federal law’s requirement that citizens buy health insurance or pay a penalty is unconstitutional.”

Cuccinelli’s specific target is Section 1501 of the federal law. According to Fox News, “If Section 1501 were abolished, it could seriously jeopardize enactment of the whole law because the provision calls for collecting most of the money that is supposed to flow into the system from millions of additional participants to the health insurance rolls. Without it, the law’s execution could be severely compromised.”

One would hope so, particularly in this age of belt-tightening and household budget trimming. Isn’t it high time that at least one judge recognize the inanity, not to mention financial enormity, of Obamacare? The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act imposes economic and ethical burdens on Americans. Additionally, as we have pointed out in previous reports, exorbitant programs designed to fill the coffers of pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood are abundant in this so-called health care law.

In fact, Stop Planned Parenthood International (STOPP) reported, “Unless there is a loud outcry from the American people, all prescription birth control will very likely be listed as preventive health care under the Obama administration’s health care act by August of next year, leaving the taxpayers to foot the bill for billions more dollars that will flow into Planned Parenthood’s bottomless money pit to pay for deadly concoctions that are neither ‘preventive’ nor ‘health care.’”

Taxpayers will not have a choice; every one of us would be forced to pay the price.

At this point, Obama’s White House is dismissive of yesterday’s decision stating that, when all the legal wrangling is over, Obamacare will be upheld. Yet, we must continue to voice our opposition, to teach others and to pray—for the foundation of our country is freedom and these freedoms must be upheld. This includes ensuring that people are not forced by government mandate to pay for something against their will.

The rub is that we also live in a nation where the law protects the act of killing an innocent person by refusing to acknowledge that a human being begins to exist and is a person at his biological beginning. So what is logical is not always what is legal in America. Let’s hope that’s not the case when the final door is closed on Obamacare.

If we don’t speak up, no one will ever know there was opposition. Sitting idly by and watching things happen is not a way to affect change. Because of the hard work and commitment of countless people, we are moving in the right direction. However, we must all get involved in fighting this treacherous law. Below are some things that anyone can do:

Learn the facts
Educate your fellow Americans
Pray for the success of the lawsuits against Obamacare
Let your elected officials know the only real solution is to repeal the law and start over.

We urge you to take a stance and let your voice be heard.
