Harebrained: foolish, absurd, ridiculous
The major contenders for the office of president of the United States have nothing in common except for the fact that their positions on aborting babies are harebrained! And for that, Trump and DeSantis should be ashamed.
DeSantis supports a law that permits the killing of preborn children when the baby exists because of rape, incest, or human trafficking.
Trump criticizes this terribly flawed law, saying DeSantis did not know what he was doing because the new law is “too harsh.” But he would not state his own position on aborting children.
So there you have it: Big shots with no idea what it means to be pro-life.
But pro-life political types apparently have no idea how terrible it is that either man favors a little bit of abortion. This means they are a little bit less pro-death than Biden, Harris, or other Dems who may run for president next year. So where does that leave the babies?
Frankly, it renders many, if not most of them, dead unless the pro-life movement begins taking this fact into account before working for the election of fools. And my friends, that is precisely who is running thus far. I have yet to see one man or woman running for president who has taken the position that every preborn child is a human being. Isn’t that a shame?
So what can we do about this? Well, let’s take a look at the words political issue. A very good place to start is this definition: “A political issue is one that has to do with government or politics. This may include issues related to party politics or a political system or social, environmental or other issues as determined by the voting public.”
Now put that in the context of a single little preborn baby who is created in the image and likeness of God and who is His gift to the parents who have procreated that child. How in the world did precious babies like the one I just described become a mere political issue?
If you read my columns regularly, you know the answer. We have to hold the feet of men and women who are running for office to the fire that is lit with truth.
You see, neither Trump nor DeSantis deserves to be labelled pro-life, yet both claim to be, even though only the Creator knows how many of His children they would be condemning to death if elected.
We are told that the world of politics calls for compromise, but that should not apply when the discussion point is abortion. Abortion is not a political issue; it is an action that, if taken, results in someone’s death.
The only discussions that should matter are those that express how a person seeking your vote would deal with the direct killing of a single innocent baby, regardless of how she came into existence or whether or not she has a heartbeat. Once identified as a human being because her DNA is present, she should be defended and protected.
Trump does not see it. DeSantis does not see it. But I wonder how many pro-life people see it!
It is time to tell the truth. No pro-life voter should want a harebrained political big shot in the White House. When babies are dying, choosing someone who will continue the killing, if only allegedly a little bit, is as bad as Biden or Harris.
