I am so elated to tell you how grateful I am to God for the recent statements of Colorado Springs Bishop Michael Sheridan and Worcester, Massachusetts Bishop Robert McManus.
In the ongoing discussions about Plan B being used in Catholic hospitals as a treatment for rape, Bishop Sheridan hit the nail on the proverbial head when he told LifeSite news, "the truth is sometimes divisive."
In his diocese Catholic hospitals do not distribute these pills and are not required by state law to administer nor even to refer for the abortifacient monring after pill. He noted, "My opinion on moral questions is to err on the side of safety, rather [than] in the opposite direction."
Amidst the hoopla over the Jesuit-run College of the Holy Cross hosting a full day of sessions on adolescent pregnancy and pairing itself with Planned Parenthood and their ilk, Bishop Robert McManus issued a statement in which he said he had asked the college to revoke the college's agreement.
In his official statement he declared,
It is my fervent wish that the administration of the College of the Holy Cross will unequivocally disassociate itself from the upcoming conference sponsored by the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy so that the college can continue to be recognized as a Catholic institution committed to promoting the moral teaching of the Roman catholic church.
