Pro-Life This Week – November 6, 2020

Week in Review – National election results as we have them on Thursday afternoon (11/5)

For obvious reasons, the elections dominated the attention of the pro-life community this week. Currently, the results have Joe Biden in the lead—but his total of electoral votes has not, yet, reached the count of 270, which is necessary to secure his victory. The Associated Press is currently reporting the totals as 264 for Biden and 214 for Trump.

There are five states where a winner has not yet been declared. Those states, and the number of electoral votes for each one, are—Alaska (3), Nevada (6), Pennsylvania (20), North Carolina (15) and Georgia (16). Biden appears to be ahead in Nevada, while Trump appears to lead in the other four states.

Trump is currently saying that there were voting irregularities in two states that went to Biden— Arizona (11) and Michigan (16) and is asking the states to investigate.

Clearly, there is much that has yet to be settled. If everything stays the way it is and Biden wins Nevada and Trump wins the other four states, the final electoral count would be Biden (270) and Trump (268). Given the current climate in the United States, we can expect legal challenges for any very close election.

There is better news in the United States Senate. Current voting results indicate that Republicans are likely to maintain their majority in the Senate. The current tally shows 48 Republicans and 46 Democrats (and 2 independents who usually vote with the Democrats). There are four races yet to be decided—Alaska, North Carolina, and two Senate seats in Georgia. Republicans currently lead in Alaska and North Carolina. In addition, Republicans are expected to win at least one seat in the Georgia runoff election scheduled for January. If all that happens, Republicans will have at least a 51-seat majority in the Senate.

Finally, there is the House of Representatives. Although it appears Republicans will pick up eight seats, it will not be enough to take control of the House. The good news is that pro-lifers in the House have increased their numbers. There are 36 races yet to be determined, but these are the current numbers:

Pro-life Improvement

Pro-Lifers replacing Pro-Abortion Members

  1. FL-27 Maria Elvira Salazar (replacing Donna Shalala)
  2. IA-01 Ashley Hinson (replacing Abby Finkenhauer)
  3. IN-05 Victoria Spartz (replacing Susan Brooks)
  4. MN-07 Michelle Fischbach (replacing Collin Peterson)
  5. NM-02 Yvette Herrell (replacing Xochitl Torres Small)
  6. OK-05 Stephanie Bice (replacing Kendra Horn)
  7. SC-01 Nancy Mace (replacing Joe Cunningham)
  8. TX-23 Tony Gonzales (replacing Will Hurd)

Pro-life Loss

Pro-Abortion Members replacing Pro-Lifers

1. NC-02 Deborah Ross (replacing George Holding)
2. NC-06 Kathy Manning (replacing Mark Walker)

Bottom line—we will still have a Republican-controlled Senate and a Democrat-controlled House. What we don’t know is who the president will be.

Please pray that God’s will be done.

ALL in the News – STOPP Report Covers 2020 Election; Christian Post Quotes Judie Brown

On Wednesday, November 4, STOPP’s bi-weekly report was published and sent out to an expansive list containing tens of thousands of readers. This week’s STOPP report covers the undecided presidential election, as well as attempts to open new Planned Parenthood facilities in Texas

This week, days prior to Election Day, American Life League was mentioned in an article from the Christian Post. The article recorded Ivanka Trump stating she is “unapologetically pro-life” due to actions by Planned Parenthood and quotes ALL president Judie Brown saying Planned Parenthood is only concerned with abortions.

Every Friday afternoon, the American Life League social media team, Dwain Currier and Katie Brown, host the Friday Live Show on Instagram Live. Last week, the duo discussed recently-confirmed Justice Barrett and how she might affect the Supreme Court, as well as how hormonal birth control can cause abortions. This week’s show will premiere this afternoon on American Life League’s Instagram accountReplays of the show can be found on Facebook.

Last week, American Life League vice president, Hugh Brown, was interviewed by political commentator and former presidential candidate Alan Keyes. The full interview will appear on the show “Let’s Talk America with Alan Keyes”. Clips of the show can be found on ALL’s Facebook page.

Twice a week, Judie Brown’s commentaries are distributed to an expansive media list. The list contains over 100 media outlets such as Fox News, The FederalistBreitbartThe Daily Caller, among others. Judie’s Tuesday commentary, Electing Christ, gave readers the much-needed reminder that no matter the election outcome, Christ is in control. Each commentary is also featured as a part of Judie’s recurring column on Renew America

Jim Sedlak’s Pro-Life Activism from Creation to Death is a weekly talk-radio program on the Radio Maria USA network. The show can be heard live every Friday at noon (Eastern Time) and is repeated on Saturdays (10 PM).

Video of the Week – “Dear Christian Parents, it is time to have this conversation.”

Pro-life advocates concerned about foreign human DNA in vaccines have been slammed by the abortion cartel and its media spokespersons as anti-vax. Accept that pro-life advocates don’t oppose vaccines, just the ones that involve the remains of dead babies.

In 2019, Sound Choice Pharmaceuticals sent an open letter to Congress warning them of the dangers of trace DNA fragments floating in the vials of our vaccines. Those vaccines are then injected into the rapidly developing bodies of babies and children. What are the dangers? Mutations and compromised immune systems.

Pro-life Social Media – Mankind has achieved fantastic engineering marvels.

Mankind has achieved fantastic engineering marvels. So it’s hard to imagine that, even though we can send a satellite into space to land on the surface of an asteroid 200 million miles away, we can’t count millions of election ballots with enough efficiency and integrity to know the winner 24 hours after a national election. Perhaps Trump Derangement Syndrome hasn’t yet infected the minds of aerospace engineers.

While chaos and uncertainty mar the election results, we turn to cooler heads who remind us that, no matter who the next president is, we never forget who is King over all.

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves. But we did anyway.
