SCOTUS Says Yes, States Can Defund Planned Parenthood
On Thursday morning, the Supreme Court ruled against Planned Parenthood in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. The court determined that yes, states can indeed defund Planned Parenthood.
The court determined that a state can disqualify Planned Parenthood as an approved Medicaid provider, which would bar Planned Parenthood from receiving Medicaid reimbursements.
South Carolina chose to defund Planned Parenthood due to its abortion business. The decision was met with immediate pushback from Planned Parenthood. This SCOTUS ruling now puts this issue to rest, as any state can now freely choose to defund Planned Parenthood without it going to a lawsuit. ALL’s STOPP program has been working for this victory since the 1980s. STOPP is the sole pioneer in the defund Planned Parenthood movement, and we are so blessed to see this goal finally within reach.
Latest STOPP Report Highlights That While Planned Parenthood Facility Numbers Are Decreasing, Its Abortion Numbers Continue to Rise
STOPP just released its 2025 Planned Parenthood Facilities Report, after a four-year hiatus from this specific report. STOPP investigated the trend of Planned Parenthood facilities opening and closing from January 2022 through May 2025, counting the number of brick-and-mortar facilities that perform surgical abortions and provide pill abortions and contraceptives.
STOPP’s report found that between January 2022 and May 2025, 66 facilities closed, 20 facilities reopened/opened, and 10 are temporarily closed, leaving a total of 509 facilities to currently operate.* The closure of these 66 facilities is great news but simultaneously presents us with a deeper challenge to face: Planned Parenthood’s abortion numbers are rising each year!
According to its 2023-2024 annual report, Planned Parenthood admitted to killing 402,230 preborn children in abortion, a 2.42% increase from its reported numbers last year. This number does not count abortion pill deaths, nor does it count the deaths that can occur from contraceptive abortions, as there is no way to know or count how many babies are killed from contraceptives, leading STOPP to speculate that many more deaths occurred than even the reported number.
So how can Planned Parenthood’s most “lucrative business” of abortion continue to increase when facilities continue to decline in number? Unfortunately, Planned Parenthood uses several methods to put abortion pills into the hands of people all over the United States, not only through its referrals to online abortion pill distributers but through its telehealth abortions. STOPP discovered that Planned Parenthood’s Direct app, telehealth visits through its facilities, its patient navigator service to provide travel and lodging for women to travel out of state for abortions, and its newest telehealth option of virtual “health” centers are all ways in which it is able to make money off of ending innocent preborn life.
Our facilities report provides insight into the function and number of these virtual methods and how Planned Parenthood, in the midst of all its facility closures, is still able to operate its abortion business via the Internet.
The fight against shutting down Planned Parenthood is now stronger than ever. STOPP’s research presents these facts about facility closures and the growth of virtual abortions to show just how crucial it is to continue this fight head-on against the biggest abortion organization in our nation, and not with incremental steps. Our government, at both the federal and state levels, must defund the organization for good.
As long as Planned Parenthood exists, rest assured that we at STOPP will never stop our efforts.
*Note: In the weeks since this report was released, two temporarily closed facilities reopened, and a facility in Vermont closed, leaving us with 510 facilities currently operating. These numbers are always fluctuating.

Self-Professed ‘Catholic’ Congressman Still Eschewing Catholic Teaching
Joe Biden officiated a pretend wedding for homosexual men. He has not been excommunicated. After signing abortion into state law, Andrew Cuomo illuminated in pink some of New York’s landmarks. He has not been excommunicated. Nancy Pelosi rides in “Pride” parades and celebrates Planned Parenthood. She has not been excommunicated.
Today, Pelosi is still spitting in the face of Christ by celebrating the tenth anniversary of SCOTUS’ decision that gave homosexuals the privilege of pretending to live in a married state.
Ten years ago, the Supreme Court unequivocally declared in Obergefell v. Hodges that marriage is the right of all people.
— Nancy Pelosi (@SpeakerPelosi) June 26, 2025
In 2022, Democrats proudly bolstered that landmark decision by enshrining marriage equality into federal law—making it clear that love always wins. pic.twitter.com/OcPbJHEEVW
At least Archbishop Cordileone has excluded Pelosi from receiving Communion in the archdiocese. If Pelosi loved Christ and His Church, she would have repented long, long ago. But eternity in the abode of the damned doesn’t appear to be of major concern to the former Speaker of the House.
So, since children are "people" can an adult male marry a 4 year old boy?
— Fr. Bayer Holz (@gonefishin1948) June 26, 2025
That’s what the “right of all people” would get you.
SCOTUS got this one wrong
— The Great Reset (@_Tic_Tock_) June 26, 2025
Horribly wrong
Yes, even majorities will choose evil over truth.
Love is defined in the Bible. God defined marriage to be between a man and a women. The Bible says this is the love of God: to keep His commandments. You are far off the mark. You are wrong.
— Jo (@DoItNowGirl) June 26, 2025
But she will not “foist” God’s laws on the people. Doesn’t our Lord warn us about putting light under bushel baskets?
