Planned Parenthood Attack Sets Dangerous Precedent

Obama protection gives abortion giant shameless arrogance

(Washington, DC) — Just weeks ago, Planned Parenthood spent over $400,000 to save its $360 million in taxpayer funding during the budget battle. A teary-eyed ad campaign painted the world’s largest abortion chain as the champion of health services for poor and downtrodden women.

Now, the $6 million Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) is going after eight representatives who voted to defund it. American Life League (ALL) said that such ads are a dangerous precedent since Planned Parenthood receives one-third of its total $1.1 billion annual income from taxpayer dollars.

Here is an organization that is so big and so protected by the White House that it can openly attack an elected representative who dares vote to curb its funding, said ALL vice president, Jim Sedlak. This is the shameless arrogance that comes from the president of the United States vowing to have your back at any cost—even the decimation of one-third of the next generation of African-Americans.

Planned Parenthood commits one of every four abortions in the United States and its records show that 98 percent of all pregnancies that enter its doors end in abortion. CDC reports that 37 percent of preborn black babies nationwide are terminated.

The attack ads seem to imply that Planned Parenthood routinely helps women have babies as part of essential health care services. The ads then state that a vote to defund the group betrayed women and was really a vote intended to stop access to services such as pap smears and breast exams.

ALL says such ads are a gross distortion since the Pence Amendment only defunded Planned Parenthood, not thousands and thousands of eligible health care providers.
