Obama Out of the Closet on Same-Sex “Marriage”

STAFFORD, VIRGINIA – May 11, 2012 – President Obama suggested in an ABC interview that the teachings of Jesus support his ‘evolved’ same-sex marriage position. He now ‘personally’ favors homosexual marriage but says he is officially ‘indifferent’ to citizen efforts in states to establish or prevent it. Paul Rondeau, executive director at American Life League, issued this statement:

“This is not news.  Obama is finally out of the closet on this one.  After all, it was Obama who ordered the Department of Justice to no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) signed by President Clinton.  It was Obama who removed Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell in the military.  And, it is Obama according to the NY Daily News, who ‘has appointed a record number of openly gay officials since his election…[and this trend] will only continue to grow.’

Such actions only validate his disdain for the Judeo-Christian values that are the cornerstone of this great country.  Instead, he seems to believe that not only can he fundamentally transform America but also has the power to do the same with the Roman Catholic Church.  He will find that neither ignorance nor disregard of the Catholic faithful has served previous emperors or kings well.

Do we believe that this president is “indifferent” to efforts to protect marriage? Perhaps but only in the the same way he is indifferent to his oath “to protect and defend the Constitution” when it comes to religious freedom, the separation of powers, a states’ right to defund Planned Parenthood, and the sanctity of life.

As President Clinton might say, it depends on what the meaning of indifferent is.”
