This Monday, October 3, American Life League will mark its first-ever Pro-Life Memorial Day by holding a candlelight vigil outside the U.S. Supreme Court building from 7:30-8:30 p.m. The vigil will honor the memory of the more than 46 million children killed by legal abortion in this country since 1973. In addition, people across the nation are invited to participate in Pro-life Memorial Day activities in their own communities.
"ALL's Pro-Life Memorial Day serves as an opportunity for individuals nationwide to publicly express their support for the protection of each and every human being's life – from creation to death," said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. "This first-ever event coincides with the opening day of this historic Supreme Court session in which abortion will play a major role. Pro-lifers everywhere must ensure that our voices are heard through prayer and peaceful activism."
American Life League has also circulated a petition urging President Bush to officially designate the first Monday of October as Pro-life Memorial Day, and has distributed thousands of official Pro-life Memorial Day T-shirts to young people across the country.
"We are especially excited to have so many youth participating in Pro-Life Memorial Day," said Mrs. Brown. "They are the future of the pro-life movement and the ones who will help to bring about an end to the tragedy of abortion that has swept our nation."
