Bob Dornan to lead ALL’s efforts on Capitol Hill

Former Congressman Robert K. Dornan is joining American Life League's efforts to protect and defend the lives of preborn children. "I made up my mind to quit my broadcast career and do what I've been talking about doing for years," said Dornan, "working with the only national pro-life organization that has always held true to the principle that not even one baby's life can be sacrificed for political compromise."

Dornan's primary mission as a member of the American Life League team will be refocusing attention on the Right to Life Act, a proposal that establishes the personhood of each human being as beginning at fertilization. The 2005 version of the Right to Life Act (HR 552) has been filed in the U.S. House. The bill was introduced by Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.), and thus far has obtained more than 60 House co-sponsors. American Life League is anticipating hearings on the bill, which has been assigned to the House Judiciary Committee.

"God works in mysterious ways," said American Life League president Judie Brown. "It's answered prayer to have a pro-life hero like Bob Dornan on our team. I look forward to working with him to help establish full legal protection for all innocent human beings, from creation to death."

"I'm eager to get back into pro-life action as I did in the House of Representatives," Dornan said, "and I promise you that I will use my new position to generate lots of Congressional and grassroots support for the Right to Life Act. With the grace of God, we will not let the babies down."
