Focus on the Family’s Tebow Ad ‘Celebrates Beauty and Dignity of the Human Person’

Washington, D.C. (27 January 2010) – American Life League president Judie Brown congratulated Focus on the Family for its Superbowl ad featuring college football star Tim Tebow and his family. Tebow’s mother defied her doctors’ advice to abort Tim after getting sick on a mission trip in the Philippines.
“Congratulations and thank you to Focus on the Family for giving millions of Superbowl watchers a chance to hear the inspiring and beautiful story of the Tebow family.

“Between meaningless and often crude ads for cars, beer and cell phones, football fans this year will see and hear an example of true courage, love and human dignity.

“Focus on the Family has broken through a media blackout that has censored pro-life messages under the phoney excuse they are ‘political’ for years.  We pray that through the Tebow family, the 94 million estimated Superbowl watchers will open their hearts to the beauty and dignity of the human person and ‘Celebrate Life.’

“Tim’s story however is not unique. Every day mothers, fathers and families are making heroic decisions to love and welcome their preborn children no matter what.

Celebrate Life magazine, American Life League’s flagship publication, is dedicated to sharing stories like the Tebows’. One example is Theresa Bonopartis. Featured in the current issue of CL, Theresa has dedicated her life to fighting the prejudice of adverse prenatal diagnosis.

“Theresa’s story, Tim’s story and the many more like it happening every day are more proof that our nation is slowly but surely embracing a culture that recognizes the dignity and personhood of every human being.”

American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to death.  For more information or press inquiries, please contact Katie Walker at 540.659.4942.
