Crackpots at the ACLU

Recently a young mother gave birth to a premature baby. Sadly, the baby tested positive for concaine, and a judge charged his mother with reckless endangerment because she exposed her prebon child to the drug.

But the ACLU would have none of it. They took this young mother's case and are defending her. Their position is that prosecuting mothers for their actions during pregnancy is unprecedented. The ACLU claims that the young mother's conviction "is an attempt to create a new crime by charging women for harming their fetuses."

Well, hello! Yes, ACLU, that would be correct since the mother of a preborn baby is responsible for two human beings — herself and her baby. Therefore, to intentionally take drugs while pregnant should be a crime. At least in a sane society.
