Texoma Pro-Life

After seven years of prayers, petitions, and peaceful protests, Texoma Pro-Life Association, an American Life League Associate group, was pleased to report that the Planned Parenthood facility in Sherman, TX, closed its doors on August 23, 2011!

Since the opening of the Sherman Planned Parenthood facility, TPLA had worked diligently to educate the community about the dangers of Planned Parenthood. By hosting pro-life speakers, sponsoring local fair booths, participating in Life Chains, and conducting community information sessions, the TPLA endeavored to teach local residents why Planned Parenthood was and is not an asset to Sherman or to the country.

After prayerful consideration, TPLA members decided to hold their first ever 40 Days for Life campaign this past spring and were blessed to have Shawn Carney, one of the cofounders of 40 Days for Life, present with them! He visited the group on April 8, 2011, and provided an incredible amount of inspiration to all of the faithful participants who so willingly stood for life.

On August 28, 2011, David Bereit, the national director of 40 Days for Life, joined TPLA in its celebration of the closing of the Sherman Planned Parenthood. Another fantastic blessing!

Texoma Pro-Life Association plans on continuing its work in the pro-life movement and has launched a local True Women’s Healthcare Project in order to gather resources and information for women who are seeking true, comprehensive medical care. TPLA gives all the glory and praise to God for this amazing accomplishment and asks that everyone pray for the former employees of the Sherman Planned Parenthood facility.
