Back in the day, Mattel created an interesting toy called Creepy Crawlers. The original concept involved squishy plastic bugs that had the potential of scaring our little pals. But in today’s world there are human beings who are deadly creepy, and this has nothing to do with that old-time rubbery toy. The agendas of such people involve actual imposed death for the vulnerable.
Let’s look at a few examples.
In Canada, a 55-year-old man fell in his living room. Twelve days later he was euthanized. The mystery surrounding the imposed death of this man who was not near death, or even terminally ill, remains unsolvable, as nobody seems to want to admit to the killing or explain how it happened. If such a thing can occur in Canada because of the Medical Assistance in Dying law, it can happen anywhere.
This is so because deadly creepy people have a sincere affection for death, as long as it is someone else’s death.
Closer to home, the governor of the commonwealth of Virginia has withdrawn a regulatory proposal that would have kept men out of women’s sports. Governor Abigail Spanberger is no friend to preborn children, and it appears that she has little regard for the differences between men and women that should protect women in sports from having to deal with men as their opponents or in their locker rooms.
Responding to Spanberger’s decision, former delegate Kim Taylor, R-Petersburg, said, “My jaw dropped when I saw the news. . . . Governor Spanberger had a chance to stand up for women and girls, and instead she turned her back. Our daughters should never be asked to sacrifice their privacy or a fair playing field for someone else’s political agenda.”
Deadly creepy people do not respect moral parameters in sports, in utero, or apparently anywhere when their own political agenda is at stake. If you ask why, I am confident they would admit that their perceived superiority in matters of morality was developed without concern for God’s laws. Such attitudes are inherent in the egoistic human being.
Blessed Fulton J. Sheen addressed ego and once wrote, “The damaged ego falsely identifies its fulfillment with the sensate, and seeks its perfection in what it has, rather than in what the person is or can become.”
It is those damaged egos that create the deadly creepy actions we abhor. This is why the words we use are so important in our efforts to teach the truth.
A recent article about NFP underscored this fact. The writer reminds us that natural family planning is not contraception. She wisely states, “NFP itself is intrinsically neutral, which means that it requires discernment by the couple. Openness to life is not merely a state of mind; it manifests itself in the marital act. The marital act is meant to be both procreative and unitive, not just one or the other.”
Contraception and abortion defy the creative power of God, but NFP helps couples hear God and welcome Him into their intimate relationship. While the world expects everyone, including teens as young as 13, to be contraceptive customers, nature desires the good that is always found in practicing chastity until marriage and fidelity within it.
Recognizing this fact, understanding the deadly creepy identity of contraception, and acting in accord with the expectations of the Lord rather than human desire help pave the way for a clear understanding of the intrinsic value of every human being. As Dignitas Infinita says, “Dignity is intrinsic to the person: it is not conferred subsequently (a posteriori), it is prior to any recognition, and it cannot be lost. All human beings possess this same intrinsic dignity, regardless of whether or not they can express it in a suitable manner.”
These words remind us once again of the unassailable truth that all human beings are precious in the eyes of our creator and thus deserve our tireless efforts to defend and protect them.
The deadly creepy cultural elite may not recognize this, but we persist in insisting that they do!
