PPNCNY to Close Two Locations; Is This Downsizing or Streamlining?

STOPP learned this week of two Planned Parenthood locations that will be closing by the end of 2026. Planned Parenthood of the North Country New York announced it will close both the Ogdensburg and Lowville abortion facilities. Both offer medication abortion along with transgender hormone services.
PPNCNY CEO, Crystal Collette, cites federal budget cuts as the reason for the closures, but she also notes that no layoffs will occur. Instead, employees will be relocated to support other abortion facilities.
This follows Planned Parenthood’s most recent trend; it is not downsizing like we think, it is re-prioritizing.
It was not announced where the employees from these two facilities will be relocated, but we can assume they will be transferred to facilities that offer surgical abortions.
With the rise of the abortion pill and telehealth services, Planned Parenthood’s brick-and-mortar locations have emphasized surgical abortions. It has become so easy to obtain abortion pills online that there is no need to visit a Planned Parenthood facility, unless you need a surgical abortion.
We can count on the fact that Planned Parenthood knows this and is taking steps to ensure that surgical abortions will be just as available as medication abortion.
While it is still a good thing to see a Planned Parenthood facility close its doors, we must be wise enough to see what these closures really mean.

Planned Parenthood Affiliate Honors Former President Joe Biden for Supporting Abortion Access

Last week at its annual fundraising gala, Planned Parenthood of Delaware awarded one of its well-known supporters, former president Joe Biden, with the Sonia Schorr Sloan Service Award. The award is named for the late Sonia Schorr, a former president of Planned Parenthood of Delaware and a friend and supporter of Joe Biden. While Biden has identified as a Catholic his entire life, he has continued to support abortion and Planned Parenthood, including during his administration.
Former first lady Jill Biden presented the award to her husband. After describing the importance of abortion access for their daughters and granddaughters, she said, “As president, he used the power of his office to defend access to reproductive healthcare.”
During the 15-minute award speech, Biden recounted his catastrophic support for the killing of preborn children throughout his presidential career and received cheers from Planned Parenthood when he told them not to “give up” on fighting for the expansion of abortion and a woman’s so-called “right” to kill her child. As LifeNews aptly stated in its article about the award ceremony, “Biden made no mention of the women Planned Parenthood has killed or injured in botched abortions or the 67 million abortions in America since Roe that have killed over 33 million baby girls—eliminating the very lives of the women he claims to support.”
Sadly, it is not surprising that Planned Parenthood of Delaware would recognize Biden for his policies that helped enable it to continue preborn child murder, particularly through the abortion pill. The horror of ceremoniously celebrating such acts serves as a somber reminder of evil’s persistent ways, especially as it attempts to normalize such horrors against the human person through abortion, contraception, gender hormone drugs, and the perverted sex education Planned Parenthood provides.
