Planned Parenthood’s Current Facilities Landscape

In our last Wednesday STOPP Report, we discussed the Trump administration’s despicable decision to allow Medicaid reimbursement funding to resume for Planned Parenthood and other abortion organizations. While pro-abortion media outlets continue to report on all the “damage” done to Planned Parenthood because of the defunding that took place from July 2025 to July 2026, Planned Parenthood’s facilities are already beginning to reopen, and plans to open new ones in 2026 are moving forward.
The facility in Seaford, Delaware, which has closed and opened more than once, officially reopened as of July 6. This facility commits pill abortions via in-person visits and dispenses contraception both in person and through telehealth appointments.
Additionally, STOPP discovered on July 10 that Planned Parenthood’s Massapequa facility in New York quietly reopened, as indicated on its website. Massapequa also commits pill abortions and provides contraception through its in-person visits.
Prior to Planned Parenthood’s refunding, new facilities were announced in both Louisiana and California. Planned Parenthood Great Plains announced that it would be opening a facility in New Orleans, Louisiana, and expanding telehealth visits. The Fontana facility, which has been under construction for three years, is now anticipated to open in California by the end of 2026.
STOPP’s Planned Parenthood Facilities Report Update: 2025 in Review explained that while Planned Parenthood managed to see seven total facility openings/reopenings amidst the defunding, it saw 51 permanent closures and three temporary closures in that time. Clearly the one-year defunding period had a positive impact in stopping the abortion giant’s brick-and-mortar landscape from expanding further. However, its digital landscape exploded with an increase in telehealth abortions and virtual health centers, and most recently it has begun marketing “just in case” abortion pills and misoprostol-only abortions.
As a nation, we must acknowledge that while Planned Parenthood may have received less funding, causing it to rearrange or close its facilities for good or temporarily, it is providing more abortions with each passing year and capitalizing on the intentional blind eye of past and present presidential administrations toward the abortion pill. This truly shows that one year of defunding was not enough. We must defund Planned Parenthood for good in order to fight for the dignity of preborn children. Though defunding the abortion organization will not stop abortion once and for all in the US, nor will it completely shut down Planned Parenthood for good, it is a major step in ensuring that Americans’ money will not go toward the murder of preborn babies.
We pray for the Lord’s mercy on those who turn a blind eye toward the preborn, and we ask for His strength and the prayers of His Blessed Mother to guide us in the fight for life so that we remain unwavering and courageous. Prayer is truly the key for Planned Parenthood’s ultimate demise.
Planned Parenthood Sues the Federal Government Over Terminated Sex Ed Grants

Planned Parenthood and a group of organizations and local governments are suing the US Department of Health and Human Services over recent changes it made to the Teen Pregnancy Prevention program. While the lawsuit argues that these changes will harm the adolescents whom the program is supposed to help, the loss of millions of dollars in funding is a more likely motivator for these organizations.
The Teen Pregnancy Prevention program offers federal grants to organizations that “prevent teen pregnancy, prevent sexually transmitted [diseases] among adolescents, and promote positive youth development.” In June 2026, HHS announced that it was terminating 53 of its 67 grants, totaling nearly $70 million in lost funding. In a letter to the terminated grantees, the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health said, “After a review of all curricular content, OASH believes that some curricula normalize adolescent sexual activity and are not age appropriate, as they contain overly sexually explicit or pornographic content that is not necessary to achieve the TPP program’s statutory mission.”
This comes as no surprise to STOPP, as we have found numerous examples of such inappropriate content in Planned Parenthood’s sex ed materials over recent decades. Some notable examples include the following:
- Its Sex Ed To-Go program teaches educators that children should receive sex education as early as kindergarten because they are sexual from birth. Its student lessons discuss sex toys, encourage children to view pornography, and promote abortion.
- This program also offers a lesson called “Gender & Sexual Orientation Basics,” which introduces students in eighth grade and up to different gender identities and sexual orientations. Students who identify as LGBTQ+ are encouraged to talk to a “trusted adult or counselor” if they experience distress over their identities, with no mention of parents.
- In 2023, Planned Parenthood was banned from a Canadian school district after creating and distributing a “Sex: From A-Z” deck of cards to high school students that included explicit drawings and descriptions of disturbing sexual fetishes.
Further, a former PP sex educator shared that she was told “to assume that adolescents have done anything and everything when it comes to sex and that if they haven’t, they will.” This assumption gives PP educators free rein to introduce students to any and all sexual topics, encouraging an unhealthy and damaging view of sex.
The coalition suing HHS over the terminated grants argues that teens will be harmed by the program’s new guidelines, which include “sexual risk avoidance” education, a prohibition on DEI and gender ideology, and restrictions on discussions of adolescent sexual activity. Despite claims that TPP is responsible for the decline in teen pregnancy rates, data from the Guttmacher Institute—PP’s former research arm—shows that these rates began falling two decades before the program’s 2009 inception. As one article points out, the decrease is more likely due to the falling rates of sexual activity among teens. This trend is unlikely to result from the “sex positive” ideology pushed in modern sex ed programs.
Even if this lawsuit fails, the reality is that these changes may not even last until the next election, let alone after it. More importantly, sex education should never be outsourced to a school or program. Parents are and always will be their children’s primary educators, especially when discussing morals. We should focus our federal resources on equipping parents to raise healthy teens rather than funding the garbage often found in secular sexual education programs.
