Virginia League for Planned Parenthood’s Attempt at a Third Facility in Richmond Falls Through
By Katherine Van Dyke
On Tuesday morning, The Richmonder reported that the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood’s plan to build a third abortion facility has been canceled. The article states that VLPP cited “financial reasons,” explaining that the city of Richmond, Virginia, never transferred the parcel of property to the organization.
STOPP first reported on this political deal between the city of Richmond and Planned Parenthood in July 2024, highlighting the fact that this would be the third Planned Parenthood facility in the city of Richmond. Not only had this building served as a former school for students with cerebral palsy, but Richmond sold it to VLPP for a measly $10, while the property was worth nearly $1.36 million. VLPP’s CEO, Paulette McElwain, was ecstatic over the initial real-estate deal, boasting that the affiliate could promote that its third facility in the community would commit abortions for women traveling from out of state.
However, this sketchy deal was not meant to be, and we are grateful for that. Though VLPP was given the property almost for free, it still blamed federal pauses on its Medicaid and Title X reimbursements as the main reason the expansion failed. Additionally, The Richmonder explained that “under the city’s own policies, public property is not supposed to be sold unless the city has formally declared it surplus and gone through a competitive bidding process.” It continued, “However, the city hasn’t been following that policy and often passes ordinances that declare a property surplus and approve a sale to a particular buyer at the same time.”
In 2024, the Family Foundation filed a lawsuit against the city, alleging that the sale was in violation of the city’s own code regarding its selling of properties, but the suit was ultimately dismissed by a judge.
This whole deal was made for pro-abortion politicians to protect the evil committed by Planned Parenthood, which has corrupted the city of Richmond for too long with its other two facilities that take the lives of innocent preborn children daily. While there are no current plans for the property, it at least remains free from Planned Parenthood’s efforts.
We are grateful to Our Lord that this third attempt at another death facility has failed to progress, and we are thankful for the prayers and efforts of all who stand for life.
Planned Parenthood Targets New Jersey Teens with ‘Youth Empowerment Summit’ Event
By Emily Finlay
Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey has announced a new effort to indoctrinate youth—this time with help from their parents. It will be holding a Youth Empowerment Summit this weekend for teens aged 13 to 17 years old and their parents or guardians. The senior director of education services at PPMNJ says the event “is about empowering teens and their trusted adults to navigate misinformation, make informed decisions, and feel confident in their bodies, their minds, and their futures.”
During the one-day event, teens can attend workshops that teach PP’s version of sexual and reproductive health, along with “mental and emotional well-being, harm reduction, and peer leadership skills.” There will also be a special session that PP claims will teach parents and guardians how to support their children, increase trust, and encourage open communication at home.
While these topics sound fairly innocuous, PPMNJ’s community education program reveals the harmful content it teaches. Its website describes various sex ed packages that include topics such as gender identity, pornography, abortion, LGBTQ+ attraction, sexting, a brief history of “reproductive oppression,” and more. Planned Parenthood’s website also tells parents that it’s “never too early” to talk about “bodies, relationships, and sex.”
This is PPMNJ’s first Youth Empowerment Summit, but it regularly teaches its perverse sex ed to teens through its Teen Leaders Impacting Neighbors with Knowledge of Sexuality (Teen LINKS) program. After completing 30+ hours of training in sex ed, teens promote Planned Parenthood and its message through workshops, tabling at events, social media, and more. This program is intended to help high school students (typically ages 14 to 18) become educators, leaders, and activists for “reproductive rights” and teen access to “healthcare.”
Events and tactics like these have allowed Planned Parenthood to become our nation’s largest preborn child killer. For decades, it has used sex ed programs in schools and communities to corrupt children with its twisted view of sexuality. These programs convince teens that PP is the best place to turn for contraception, sex advice, and abortion, maintaining a steady stream of customers for its wares.
STOPP fights to educate parents about these dangers and to help them protect their children from PP’s harm. Visit our website to learn how you can spot Planned Parenthood’s influence in your local schools and keep it out of your community.
