With the continuous threats to morality that we see on a daily basis, we need leaders to guide us. We crave their guidance and support and are thankful for all that they do.
Notre Dame and Georgetown out of step with Catholic teaching
Catholic universities should educate and lead today’s youth, while preparing their souls for heaven. However, recent actions show that these institutions may actually be leading them astray.
Catholic bishops must lead by both word and example. Silence can show complicity; silence can show agreement. Bishops and other clergy must speak in defense of our faith each and every day. Lives and souls depend upon this.
Catholic leadership often creates a level of discomfort among those of us who believe that today’s culture wars require saints and martyrs rather than politicians masquerading as bishops and priests.

At the first annual Rome Life Forum in Vatican City Saturday, May 3, 2014, 52 pro-life leaders from 16 nations called on the bishops of the Catholic Church to deny Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians in a spirit of love and mercy.
Catholic bishops and clergy have a responsibility to not only make their voices heard, but to teach those of the Catholic faith how to use their own voices. This means that the clergy must instruct and teach regularly about Catholic tenets and doctrine, yet we do not see this. As we see a continuing moral decline in our country, we realize now more than ever that we need to hear a roar rather than a whimper.

It’s ironic to watch the American Catholic bishops and our Church being devoured by those they fear, by the very people whose potential scorn and criticism have such power over so many of these men that the very thought of being labeled or persecuted by them seems to frighten them into practically abandoning Christ.
Christ is truly present body, blood, soul, and divinity in the Holy Eucharist. We must venerate His presence, honor Him for all He has done for us, and remain reverent at all times. Yet, too many do not take His presence seriously. Some even mock Him. Now is the time for each of us both clergy and lay people to stop this disgrace and return the respect to Our Lord that He deserves.
With all the recent debate about Pope Francis’ interview, one is left wondering if the Catholic Church has lost its zeal for truth.
