Today we pause to remember a day in history when the Lord God, Jesus Christ, in humble obedience to His Father, suffered and died for the creatures He created.
It can be difficult to stand up for our faith, for what is right and good, for what we know to be the will of God. We need good leaders clergy who will set that example and show us the way, but we cannot rely only on them. We must also set the example. We must have the courage to take the lead so that others may do the same. And it is only in God that we will find this strength.
For years, I’ve felt a call to raise awareness of the tragedy of abortion, and to offer hope to those tempted to make that deadly choice and those wounded by doing so.
For Catholics and many other Christians the world over, March 25, the traditional Feast of the Annunciation, has been a day to celebrate the silent beginning of the life of Jesus Christ as a member of the human race.
