Week in Review – Conservatives and Liberals Alike Sound the Alarm on Planned Parenthood’s Gender Care
A new article is sounding the alarm on Planned Parenthood’s gender-affirming care. The Washington Free Beacon shared a firsthand account of Planned Parenthood prescribing estrogen for an autistic 18-year-old boy after just a 30-minute consultation. The same article cites liberal doctors, many of whom are considered experts in gender transitioning, all expressing deep concern for what Planned Parenthood is doing around the country.
In the Free Beacon article, parents of a child named Fred describe their horror as they discovered that their son sat through a 30-minute gender transitioning consult with Planned Parenthood and then, not nine minutes later, they received a text update from CVS pharmacy saying their son’s estrogen was now available for pick-up.
It’s criminal what Planned Parenthoods all over the country are doing,” Fred’s mother, a pediatrician, said to the Free Beacon. “And most people have no idea this is happening.”
Fred’s parents are not the only ones to express their concern. Laura Edwards-Leeper, whom the Free Beacon describes as the liberal psychologist who helped bring pediatric gender medicine to the United States, expressed her deep concern for what Planned Parenthood is doing.
“I have always been a very strong supporter of Planned Parenthood and am pro-choice,” said Laura Edwards-Leeper, who cofounded the nation’s first pediatric gender clinic at Boston Children’s Hospital in 2007. “But they have taken on something that they are not equipped to handle.” She went on to say that some of her patients received hormones from Planned Parenthood before coming to her for an assessment.
Planned Parenthood dove headfirst into the gender transitioning business, with the abortion giant now being one of the largest providers of cross-sex hormones in the nation. The Free Beacon article cites annual reports from Planned Parenthood that show a 400 percent increase in gender visits from 2021 to 2022 at the Portland affiliate locations.
The late Jim Sedlak, founder of STOPP International, warned of this focus from Planned Parenthood years ago. As Jim said, Planned Parenthood will always follow the money. An abortion is a one-time payment, while hooking a teenager on life-altering cross-sex hormones is a monthly payment—for life.
Their plan is now obvious to everyone, even to Planned Parenthood supporters.
Judie Brown, American Life League president and cofounder, expressed her deep concern for our nation’s youth. “It is a tragedy that we have arrived at a point in America where we no longer respect the basic biological identity of our fellow human beings but prefer to pander to the untested theory that boys who want to be girls and vice versa is acceptable, even without a serious conversation about the reasons why.
