Pro-Life This Week: November 18, 2022

A Texas man has been charged with drugging his pregnant wife with abortion pills in an attempt to murder the couple’s child. Thankfully, he failed.

Fox News reports that a Houston lawyer, Mason Herring, was indicted on two felony counts, including assault of a pregnant person, under charges handed down earlier this month by a Harris County grand jury.

Herring and his wife had separated in early 2022, but according to Fox News, were going through counseling and working to mend their marriage. In February, the wife told her husband she was expecting a baby. Just a month later, in March, Herring reportedly began harping on his wife about staying hydrated and allegedly gave her a cloudy glass of water thought to contain Misoprostol.

According to Fox, Anthony Osso, the assistant district attorney in the domestic violence division assigned to the case, stated,

“On the morning of March 17, the defendant, Mr. Herring, goes by the house to bring breakfast and asks if he can bring her water in bed. Again, [he] is talking to her about needing to stay hydrated. He says, ‘If you don’t do so, I’m not leaving.’ She thought it was odd. She thought the water was cloudy. She questioned him a little bit, but, nonetheless, did drink the water, and then he leaves and takes that cup.”

After becoming ill, the wife went to the hospital, telling the staff that she suspected her husband had placed a drug in her drink. She suspected it was an abortion drug, according to the affidavit.

The wife keenly set up cameras in her home and refused any water from her husband. Osso reports that later she found a drug containing Misoprostol in their garbage.

Soon after, she caught her husband on camera lacing one of her drinks and contacted the police.

By the grace of God, the article reports the woman gave birth to a healthy baby.

This is the first case of its kind, and with the drastic and unhinged wave of abortion pills hitting the market, ALL feels it is only time before we see another.

Women are not safe with this horrid drug looming around. Women must be keenly aware of who and what they are around, especially in our society that hates babies.

As Osso puts it, “It’s manipulative. . . . It’s pre-meditated. What we are alleging Mr. Herring did, which we believe the evidence supports, is a pretty heinous act. To do that to someone who trusts you, it’s taking advantage of that trust.”

Killing a baby before he or she is born is no different from killing him or her after they are born. So, if it’s legal to kill a six-month-old preborn child, then pro-aborts should be just as content with killing a born baby who is six minutes old. That’s what Montana decided in this past election. It asked citizens if babies born from attempted abortion should be provided proper medical attention. Actor James Woods tweeted his reaction:

Just over half of the voters chose to let the born baby expire. That shouldn’t be surprising because, as we’ve argued before, pro-aborts don’t believe in a “right to abortion.” They believe in a right to a dead baby.

So how did it read?

Well, that IS confusing.

This could be true.

This is also true.

“Born-alive” bills have always had an inherent problem. If parents of a sick child are permitted to hold their dying baby without medical intervention, why deny a mother the same privilege if the dead baby she wants survives the abortion?

Therefore, it’s crucial to give back preborn babies their rights as persons. If they babies have equal protection, then no mother has a right to execute her preborn child.
