Nation’s Largest Catholic Pro-Life Group Announces New Rochester Associate

(Washington, D.C.) — American Life League, the oldest and largest Catholic pro-life organization in North America, announced today that Women’s Care Center of Rochester, New York, has joined its growing national network of Associate groups.

Women’s Care Center has served thousands of Rochester women involved with unplanned pregnancies. Its compassionate staff provides accurate educational information, emotional support, and the necessary resources to enable women to make well-informed choices and continue their pregnancies.

“Women’s Care Center became an American Life League Associate because of the opportunity for education and the wonderful resources,” said executive director Theresa D. Claybaugh. “It is a solid Catholic and pro-life organization.”

WCC was formed during the spring of 1990 by a group of people in the Rochester area with a vision to form a pregnancy help center directed by Catholic laity and supported by local Catholic churches. Claybaugh hopes to grow the program to include “mom and tots classes and parenting.”

“All innocent human beings are to be protected and defended from the first moment of their creation,” said Leslie Tignor, director of the ALL Associate Program. “The distinguishing mark of American Life League and its 115 Associates is the absolute commitment to the sanctity of every human being’s life, without exceptions. We are pleased to welcome Women’s Care Center.”
