Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York is eager to sign a bill to destroy the meaning of marriage. Our friends at the National Organization for Marriage have identified key undecided state senators. I ask that you contact them immediately to add your voice to the defense of marriage.
I am taking this unusual step because the promotion of no-fault divorce, abortion, and homosexuality flow from the same darkness. Sexual revolutionaries of the 60s inflicted these society-killing movements on America with unabashed propaganda attacks on family, Church, and life itself that continue to this day.
Homosexual “marriage” is a selfish demand centered on personal desire that mocks the family. By definition, it renounces the potential for creating life as God intended for the marital embrace.
Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York authored a special blog post today:
“Our country’s founding principles speak of rights given by God, not invented by government, and certain noble values – life, home, family, marriage, children, faith – that are protected, not re-defined, by a state presuming omnipotence….
We cherish true freedom, not as the license to do whatever we want, but the liberty to do what we ought; we acknowledge that not every desire, urge, want, or chic cause is automatically a “right.” And, what about other rights like that of a child to be raised in a family with a mom and a dad?”
