ALL launches Pro-life Memorial Day web site

American Life League's first ever Pro-Life Memorial Day is quickly approaching and word about the historical occasion is spreading. The organization has launched a dedicated web site at which visitors can find out more about the October 3 event, as well as purchase official t-shirts.

"American Life League's Pro-life Memorial Day will be a time for people from all walks of life to come together to memorialize the over 46 million children who have been lost to abortion in this country since 1973," said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. "We feel confident that with the growing support for the event, Pro-Life Memorial Day will be a day that will not go unnoticed."

Numbers of Christian leaders and organizations including, the Rev. Jerry Falwell, Archbishop Michael Sheehan of the Diocese of Santa Fe, Bishop Edward Kmiec of the Diocese of Buffalo, and Bishop Michael Saltarelli of the Diocese of Wilmington, have shown their support by officially endorsing the first-ever event.

Nationwide participation is expected as individuals will be invited to plan and take part in Pro-life Memorial Day prayer services and similar events in their local communities on that day. American Life League is also circulating a petition urging President Bush to designate the first Monday of October – the day the Supreme Court begins a new session – as Pro-life Memorial Day. The petition is available on the web site.

"American Life League invites people nationwide to participate in this event which will be one of the most important days of the year for pro-life activists," said Brown. "Whether you are praying in front of a local abortion clinic in your community or praying in front of the United States Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C., we can all make a difference. Each of us must take time on this day to pray for an end to the tragedy of abortion which has scourged our nation for the past 33 years."

Order forms for the shirts and more information about the event can be found at the official American Life League Pro-Life Memorial Day web site at www.ProLifeMemorialDay.com.
