Join the National Night of Prayer for Life

The pro-life movement in the United States is rooted in prayer. We understand that the culture of death so pervasive in our land comes from the devil. In order to defeat Satan, we must call on God for assistance.

Next week pro-lifers from across the country will join in the National Night of Prayer for Life. The actual event takes place in local communities from 9:00 p.m. December 8 to 1:00 a.m. December 9.

The event was originally begun by Catholics to commemorate both the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8) and the Feast of St. Juan Diego (December 9), but all pro-lifers from every denomination are invited to join.

In Catholic churches, the National Night of Prayer for Life is a pro-life prayer service consisting of exposition and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, 20 decades of the rosary, prayer to St. Michael, silent prayers, and hymns.

Other denominations will hold their own prayer services. Individuals can participate by setting aside the four evening hours and using the time to pray for a return to a recognition of the sanctity of every human being’s life in America.

Please take the time next Tuesday and Wednesday to pray for life.
