When the media reported that soon-to-be former Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards had attended the Oscars with Patrisse Cullors-Brignac—one of the founders of Black Lives Matter—we were speechless. Not only did Richards and Cullors-Brignac act like school chums, but when rap singer Common called out the National Rifle Association for gun violence and shooting deaths, Richards and her BLM friends were right there on stage.
Such hypocrisy! After all, as Jim Sedlak pointed out in the aftermath of this charade, the numbers are in and we see the staggering statistics. Twenty-five percent of all deaths in America are caused by abortion, far surpassing gun-related deaths.
Furthermore, just to set the record straight on Planned Parenthood, minorities, and violence, more than one-third of all abortions are committed on black babies! Clearly those black lives do not matter a bit to Planned Parenthood.
And lest we forget, among the many horrors perpetrated by Planned Parenthood was the case in Ohio in 2015 when Planned Parenthood was exposed because the organization “gave fetal remains to Marietta-based Accu Medical Waste. [State Attorney General] DeWine said the company then, in his words, ‘steam-cooked’ the remains in a sterilizing pressure chamber before sending them to a landfill in Kentucky.”
This is nothing new for Planned Parenthood, of course, but this year, as the state of Ohio considers a proposal that would require the human remains of an aborted child to be treated with dignity and given a proper burial instead of being steam-cooked, the pro-aborts began screaming like stuck pigs!
Why? Because anything that even remotely suggests that the preborn child is a human being deserving of respect—even if it is the remains of a dead baby—is just too much for these people. One pro-abort even argued that the fetal remains bill is nothing but an effort aimed at shaming expectant mothers seeking to abort their babies.
In similar situations in other states Planned Parenthood has opposed these measures as well.
The bottom line is that no human lives matter to Planned Parenthood and its allies if the people involved happen to be preborn instead of born. That is how Planned Parenthood operates. (Pardon the pun!)
But we need not stand idly by and do nothing. Right now in Congress the Republican House majority is making an effort to defund Planned Parenthood. While the Democrats—or should we say the party-of-death elected officials—are threatening all manner of divisive action, what we need to do is make sure the House of Representatives Republicans stand firm!
You can help! Make sure your elected officials hear your voice. Sign the defund Planned Parenthood petition now and encourage your friends to do likewise.
As Pope Benedict XVI taught: “God’s response to moral evil is to oppose sin and save the sinner. God does not tolerate evil because He is love, justice, fidelity; and it is precisely because of this that He does not wish the death of the sinner, but desires that the sinner convert and live.”
Pray for our enemies and for the courage to pave the way to help others see the truth that every life matters at every stage from creation to death, now and forever.
