The Kamala Problem

By Judie Brown

I recently read an article about how, when it comes to abortion and assisted suicide in this nation, medical ethics are deteriorating faster than a body of water in the blazing heat. While this challenging reality has been coming upon us for many years, when elected officials start singing the praises of the culture of death, the forces that drive that decline increase.

One of those officials, who was not elected but who was the running mate of President Biden, recently made my point much better than I could. Vice President Kamala Harris was asked about how she believes the culture affects change.

In response, she said with her trademark laugh, “Culture is—it is a reflection of our moment and our time. Right? And present culture is the way we express how we’re feeling about the moment, and we should always find times to express how we feel about the moment. That is a reflection of joy. Because, you know . . . it comes in the morning.”

While I do not pretend to understand a word of her statement, it does indicate the vapid nature of the vice president’s understanding of what the word culture represents. Please understand that I am not making disdainful comments about America’s second in command but merely reporting about her recent comments for anyone who would like to know more about her ability to articulate thoughts.

And there is more. In a June 20 special called One Year Post Roe, Vice President Kamala Harris told Joy Reid of MSNBC that her goddaughter, who just graduated high school, has friends who “are starting to make decisions about where they will actually go to college depending on what’s happening in that state.” She was referring to abortion legislation. This too is rather troubling because Harris, who has no children of her own, seems to have a rather strong affection for aborting babies.

In fact, Harris has never had a baby or aborted a baby. She has a younger sister who has one living child, and while I could go on, there is no need because clearly Harris’ position on killing babies is based solely on her ideology. A good example of this is a 2019 Harris tweet, “As president, I will stop dangerous state laws restricting reproductive rights before they go into effect.”

If this comment sounds dictatorial, that is probably because it is. Harris is a no-nonsense type who not only knows what she believes but has no trouble shoving it down our throats. This may be why Americans are not exactly favorable to her. But across the world, according to a 2022 Pew report, she is viewed in a much more positive light.

Beneath the surface, those who have honestly evaluated her political attributes are not so sure. Townhall senior editor Matt Vespa wrote, “Kamala Harris has a longer and more detailed history of failure, awkwardness, and key staffers fleeing for greener pastures, away from the toxic waste dump that’s reportedly her office. If Harris comes off as unprepared, that’s because she chooses to ignore staff-written memos on various subjects to help her.”

But her advocates write that such comments are sexist and racist. And with good reason. After all, should Harris ever become president, she would be the first female, multiracial president.

So what is next for the babies if Kamala were to gain more power? It does not require a fortune teller to assure anyone who thinks about this matter clearly that under a Harris regime, nothing good will be in store for the babies or their parents. As Harris has proclaimed, “The right of every woman, in every state, in this country, to make decisions about her own body is on the line.”

Any questions?
