Politics: The Lies That Linger

By Judie Brown

In case you have not heard by now, Planned Parenthood may or may not continue to be funded by our tax dollars. This means that every day, unless the US Senate concurs with the US House, 888 babies will die!

The politics of abortion money for Planned Parenthood is now center stage in Washington, DC and we can only hope that President Trump will gain the same support for defunding Planned Parenthood in the Senate as he has in the House.

Debates and arguments continue, yet many of our elected officials do not seem to understand the truth about PP, its actions, and the services it offers. Live Action News masterfully produced a video to demonstrate why there appears to be so much ignorance from those we elect to public office. LAN reports:

Planned Parenthood and its political allies can—and probably will—continue to claim that the abortion corporation is necessary for women’s health. However, the facts and the research prove otherwise. Planned Parenthood stands constantly willing and ready to perform abortions. . . . But if women are seeking prenatal care, mammograms, or other real health care options, they will have to find their care elsewhere.

Why? Because regardless of what Planned Parenthood, its political cronies, and the mainstream media say, those are services Planned Parenthood does not provide.

In addition to this, media outlets denigrate and malign those in the pro-life arena. For instance, the left wing fake news group Media Matters constantly takes swipes at the true heroes of our day. In a recent blast, the writers define people like David Daleiden as “anti-choice extremists” and tell their pro-death followers that anyone who is making a difference in telling the truth about Planned Parenthood—like Ryan Bomberger of the Radiance Foundation, Marjorie Dannenfelser of the Susan B. Anthony List, and others—is misinforming the public and has been discredited by their pals at Planned Parenthood.

But the funny thing about this is that, like Planned Parenthood, Media Matters purveys innuendo and gossip instead of the hard truth that abortion kills people. And Planned Parenthood is just fine with that.

We all know by now, of course, that if it were not for the work of David Daleiden, The Center for Medical Progress, Live Action, and American Life League’s Stop Planned Parenthood International nobody would even be talking about defunding Planned Parenthood or investigating its deviant ways. Yet after all the evidence is in, it could turn out that promises to defund Planned Parenthood may fail to materialize. That would mean that the pro-abortion cartel has won again—at least for now.

But they will not continue to win, for we know the truth. Below are some nuggets of information that some of our political allies have conveniently forgotten.

Fact: Congressional investigators have reviewed evidence that has given them reason to believe that Planned Parenthood operates as a criminal enterprise. Independently, House and Senate panels have referred Planned Parenthood Federation of America and five of its affiliates to the US Department of Justice for criminal investigation and prosecution for their part in the illegal trafficking of aborted baby body parts.

Fact: “Planned Parenthood kills 888 babies a day. That means the continuing resolution, if left to stand, has condemned 106,560 babies to death at the hands of Planned Parenthood.”

Fact: The Center for Medical Progress’ Human Capital Project is a “30-month-long investigative journalism study by The Center for Medical Progress, documenting how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted babies. Citizen journalists at CMP spent two-and-a-half years logging thousands of research hours to painstakingly gather hundreds of hours of undercover footage, dozens of eye-witness testimonies, and nearly two hundred pages of primary source documents.” And it is all on the CMP website.

Anyone, including politicians, can avail themselves of these facts.

So why are we still debating about defunding Planned Parenthood? My answer is simple: Politics is the art of compromise. And clearly even among those who claim to be pro-life there are facts that are conveniently ignored, there are promises that are only made to win elections, and there are lies that linger.

We hope you will let your elected officials know that you get all of this. The question is, why don’t they?

Remember: 888 babies will die today at Planned Parenthood, some while you read this. We must stop this slaughter.
