New STOPP Web Site a Tool for Activism Against Planned Parenthood

Washington, D.C. (16 July 2010) – American Life League’s Stop Planned Parenthood International (STOPP) project has just rolled out a new web site designed to give communities and grassroots groups the tools they need to remove Planned Parenthood’s vise-like grip on public schools, communities and tax dollars.

“We’re confident that easier access to STOPP’s wealth of information and proven strategies will be a tremendous aid to the thousands of activists nationwide working to kick Planned Parenthood out of their communities,” said Rita Diller, STOPP’s national director.

STOPP has been fighting against Planned Parenthood since 1985. In 1993, Planned Parenthood publicly announced its goal of having 2,000 facilities in the U.S. by the year 2000. Due, in large part, to STOPP’s work with local communities, Planned Parenthood never achieved that goal. It has gone from 938 non-express clinics in 1995 to 797 today.

The new web site also focuses on STOPP’s new prayer campaign, “Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary,” and contains STOPP’s most recent e-newsletters (The Wednesday STOPP Report), analyses, media releases and news stories, as well as easy access to STOPP’s extensive statistical resources and reference materials.

The Map Room feature lets users explore information about regularly scheduled protests outside of Planned Parenthood facilities around the country.

“We will be constantly adding materials and updating the site,” Diller added. “Together, we will make this web site your primary toolbox for getting Planned Parenthood out of town.”

STOPP was the first organization dedicated solely to eliminating Planned Parenthood and was also the first to establish grassroots activism groups to counter Planned Parenthood at the local level.

American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to death.  For more information or press inquiries, please contact Katie Walker at 540.659.4942.
