Clarifying Killings

The journal Nature has decided to correct wording in the press release announcing publication of the results of a study conducted by Advanced Cell Technology. Initially the statement did not make it clear that none of the 16 human embryos used in the research survived.

On the contrary, readers were lead to believe that the 16 thawed human embryos donated by a fertility clinic actually survived the research. The fact that each human embryo is a unique human being doesn't seem to matter.

It is an extremely sad commentary on our times that human begins are treated like guinea pigs, their bodies equated with charitable donations and their survival dismissed as part of the price ghoulish scientists are willing to pay in their quest to replace God.
