California’s Assisted Suicide Bill

Recently the co-author of California Assembly Bill 354, the California Compassionate Choices Act, Assemby member Patty Berg, told the Eureka Reporter:

The Compassionate Choices Act is a natural extension of the decades I have spent as a pro-choice advocate. I have always believed that people have the right to make provate personal decisions about their own bodies .. and this is course includes decisions about the way they will face their own deaths.

Not surprising, really. When someone describes herself as "pro-choice," the result always seems to end up with somebody's death. Maybe in this case, at least, that is why proponents of "assisted suicide" don't want the public to think about "suicide" but rather "compassion."

I ask you, since when is killing an innocent person an act of compassion?
