ALL Welcomes New Associate Group: Diocese of Fort Worth’s Gabriel Project

Washington, D.C. (24 June 2010) – American Life League has Associate groups in over 40 states, and in Africa, Canada and the Philippines.  Today, ALL welcomed the newest addition to its family of Associate groups.

The Gabriel Project of the Diocese of Fort Worth ministers to women in crisis pregnancies by offering emotional and spiritual support, prenatal and postnatal guidance, sexual integrity instruction, and help with goal setting for healthy, moral lives and careers.

“The Gabriel Project is among the most important work of the pro-life movement,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. “It directly answers Christ’s mandate to care for the bodies and souls of the least among us – especially mothers in need and their preborn children.”

The Fort Worth Gabriel Project is part of a movement started almost 25 years ago when a priest of St. Michael’s Parish in the Galveston-Houston diocese placed a sign in front of his church offering help to any woman in a crisis pregnancy.

Since then, the Gabriel Project has spread throughout Texas, Maryland, New York, Illinois, North Carolina, Tennessee, Indiana and California.

“We are both pleased and proud to be working alongside the Diocese of Fort Worth’s Gabriel Project as the ‘healing hands of Christ’ for women in Texas – and around the country. We are also excited about working with so many committed individuals proclaiming the good news that every human being – from the first moment of his or her creation – is infinitely loved and made in the image and likeness of God Himself,” said Leslie Tignor, American Life League’s Associate Program director.

American Life League’s Associate Program is a network of pro-life groups dedicated to the recognition of every human being as a person from his or her biological beginning.

American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to death.  For more information or press inquiries, please contact Katie Walker at 540.659.4942.
