birth control pill

ABORTS! The Canadian “Compendium of Pharmaceuticals and Specialties” indicates that one of the modes of action attributed to the Pill does cause abortion. Further, a visit to the pro-abortion Family Health International web site provides a presentation on the Pill, which states “Under the influence of COCs [oral contraceptives], only a small amount of endometrial growth occurs. The thinner endometrium would make implantation unlikely, in the rare event that fertilization occurs.”

Comment: There is no debate: the Pill can kill a tiny boy or girl. When in doubt, choose life!

CANCER RISK? Professor of Epidemiology Klim McPherson has challenged the status quo by stating “exposure to endogenous female hormones in this period [between menarche and first full term pregnancy] does seem to increase risk, and of course this naturally begs the question of whether exposure to exogenous hormones might additionally increase the risk.” The British Medical Journal reports, “Professor McPherson added that synthetic hormones are unlikely to be carcinogenic, but may be coinitiators-that is, they may induce epithelial changes that increase the chance of initiating cancer.”Professor of Epidemiology Klim McPherson has challenged the status quo by stating “exposure to endogenous female hormones in this period [between menarche and first full term pregnancy] does seem to increase risk, and of course this naturally begs the question of whether exposure to exogenous hormones might additionally increase the risk.” The British Medical Journal reports, “Professor McPherson added that synthetic hormones are unlikely to be carcinogenic, but may be coinitiators-that is, they may induce epithelial changes that increase the chance of initiating cancer.”

chemical abortion

METHOTREXATE+MISOPROSTOL: A study of 240 mothers carrying children of 49 days gestational age or less was conducted. The women were seeking “elective abortion” and were divided into two groups. Each group was given 50mg methotrexate intramuscularly followed 5-6 days later by 800 micrograms misoprostol vaginally. However Group 1 received moistened misoprostol tablets while Group 2 received dry tablets. The misoprostol dose was repeated in 1-2 days if the abortion did not occur. The proportion of subjects with embryonic cardiac activity 2 weeks after methotrexate injection was greater in Group 2 (5.7%) than in Group 1 (2.4%).A study of 240 mothers carrying children of 49 days gestational age or less was conducted. COMMENT:Yes, children whose heartbeat could still be detected two weeks after the attempted killing were more prevalent in one scenario than the other. But they all died.

imposed death

CALIFORNIA: By a vote of 8-7, a legislative committee has approved an assisted suicide bill authored by Assemblywoman Dion Aroner. Commenting on this proposal, which would legalize such killing, columnist Debra Saunders writes “You don’t endanger the lives of countless disabled people in order to soothe the small number of people who want to kill themselves rather than lose control. Their idea of dignity comes with a cold message: better dead than disabled.”By a vote of 8-7, a legislative committee has approved an assisted suicide bill authored by Assemblywoman Dion Aroner. KEVORKIAN: Two commentaries on the Kevorkian sentence worthy of note:Two commentaries on the Kevorkian sentence worthy of note:

The New York Times: “Dr. Kevorkian has helped bring the need for right-to-die reforms to public attention . . . the virtue of the harsh sentence-in a case that Dr. Kevorkian intends to appeal-is that it may put him out of action and let leadership of the assisted-suicide movement pass to people with sounder judgment.”

Derek Humphry, founder of the Hemlock Society, in a letter to the editor, 4/14/99: “Dr. Kevorkian’s martyrdom-self-imposed as it is-will speed the day when voluntary euthanasia for the dying is removed from the legal classification of murder and recognized as a justifiable act of compassion.”

WHOPPERS FROM THE GUTTMACHER REPORT:

On page 1: “The Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI) estimates that, each year, one million pregnancies-half of which would end in abortions-are averted among the 4.5 million women attending some 4,400 Title X-funded clinics nationwide.”“The Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI) estimates that, each year, one million pregnancies-half of which would end in abortions-are averted among the 4.5 million women attending some 4,400 Title X-funded clinics nationwide.”

COMMENT: AGI does not recognize the early abortions of children who die because of the pill, the IUD, Depo Provera, Norplant and other chemicals in their arsenals of deception.

On page 7: “For their part, Congress’s hard-line abortion opponents-those who believe that stem cells are full human persons and that research on them is murder-protested the DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services) opinion almost immediately.”“For their part, Congress’s hard-line abortion opponents-those who believe that stem cells are full human persons and that research on them is murder-protested the DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services) opinion almost immediately.”

COMMENT: Pro-life supporters know that a single cell embryo is a human being, and that the only way to acquire that child’s stem cell is to destroy the child. Such an act is murder in fact, not a mere matter of belief.

peter singer protested again

NEW JERSEY RIGHT TO LIFE COMMITTEE advanced the cause for life by protesting the appointment of Peter Singer to the faculty of Princeton University. On April 17, 1999, dignitaries opposing his appointment including Marca Bristo, chairperson of the National Council on Disability made statements. More than 100 people rallied as the university stood behind the infamous Singer, who has written, “When the death of a disabled infant will lead to the birth of another infant with better prospects of a happy life, the total amount of happiness will be greater if the disabled infant is killed.”advanced the cause for life by protesting the appointment of Peter Singer to the faculty of Princeton University. CONTRACEPTIVES NOT LUXURIES? California state assemblyman Robert Hertzberg, commenting on the passage of the bill that will require health insurance companies to pay for female birth control said, “They aren’t luxuries. These drugs are essential to protecting the health of women.”California state assemblyman Robert Hertzberg, commenting on the passage of the bill that will require health insurance companies to pay for female birth control said, “They aren’t luxuries. These drugs are essential to protecting the health of women.”

COMMENT: No, these drugs are designed to be taken by perfectly healthy women who are afraid of babies and have never learned how to practice self-control. These are recreational drugs, period!

reflect

We give glory to you, Lord, who raised up your cross to span the jaws of death like a bridge by which souls might pass from the region of the dead to the land of the living. We give glory to you who put on the body of a single mortal man and made it the source of life for every other mortal man. You are incontestably alive. Your murderers sowed your living body in the earth as farmers sow grain, but it sprang up and yielded an abundant harvest of men raised from the dead.

Come then, my brothers and sisters, let us offer our Lord the great and all-embracing sacrifice of our love, pouring out our treasury of hymns and prayers before him who offered his cross in sacrifice of God for the enrichment of us all.

(From a sermon by Saint Ephrem, deacon, [A.D.373] Liturgy of the Hours, Vol. II, p. 736)
