Planned Parenthood Celebrates New Shield Law in New Jersey

At the end of July, Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey hosted Governor Mikie Sherrill and more than 100 lawmakers and pro-abortion advocates to celebrate the signing of a new and updated shield law.
Shield laws are designed to protect abortionists in pro-abortion states who send abortion pills to mothers in states where it is restricted. This updated law is now expanded to include gender-affirming care along with stronger protections for abortionists.
New provisions include:
- Making it a crime to injure, threaten, intimidate, or physically block patients or providers or to damage property to interfere with the services
- Allowing patients and providers to sue people who interfere with access to or delivery of the protected care
- Shielding providers from professional penalties or adverse medical-malpractice-insurance actions for providing care that is legal in New Jersey
In the state of New Jersey, abortion is protected by the state’s constitution, allowing for abortion on demand. This updated shield law allows for the abortion on demand to a woman in any state as long as it’s prescribed or performed by an abortionist in New Jersey.
PPMNJ president Roslyn Rogers Collins hosted the event, celebrating the new law as “essential healthcare.” In our newly released 2026 Report on Planned Parenthood CEO Compensation, we found that Rogers Collins earns an annual income of $312,029 at Planned Parenthood. This blood money allows her to further PP’s deadly abortion agenda.
These state updates are directly targeted at pro-lifers and at various attempts, especially from attorneys general in states with abortion restrictions, to stop the illegal distribution of abortion pills and gender transitioning medications.
This further proves what American Life League reported in August of 2025: Because of shield laws, there is no such thing as a “pro-life” state in America.
Planned Parenthood and Its Sex-Education Problem

Planned Parenthood boasts that it is the largest “provider of sex education” in the United States. However, its education record has a troubling pattern: promoting contraception, committing and promoting abortion, and encouraging premarital sex and promiscuous behavior. It has also received millions of dollars in Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program grants for instructing teenagers and children to engage in these behaviors and lifestyles. Thus, it should come as no surprise that the organization was livid when the Department of Health and Human Services announced in June that it canceled 53 of 66 current grants that go to organizations that instruct young people on how to be sexually promiscuous.
According to HHS’ Office of Population Affairs website, the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program was established in 2010 during the Obama administration to “implement effective programs and develop, test, and evaluate innovative approaches to prevent teen pregnancy across the United States” and to reduce the number of STIs in young people. However, we know that this program supported contraception, promiscuity, gender ideology, and abortion.
Planned Parenthood of the Heartland and Planned Parenthood California Central Coast were two of the grant recipientsin the 2023-2026 cycle that were eliminated from the program because of HHS’ new focus on abstinence-only sex education and on not promoting gender ideology. In typical Planned Parenthood fashion, it formed a coalition with other groups impacted from the grant cuts and filed a lawsuit against the HHS just a few weeks later. However, an Obama-appointed judge recently blocked HHS’ decision on the grant’s cancellations, causing further litigation in the matter.
While Planned Parenthood and other groups claim that what HHS did was unjust and that teen pregnancy rates have gone down because of the “sex education,” the number of preborn children killed in abortion has risen. When teenagers want to have sex, Planned Parenthood provides contraception. When the contraception does not work and the natural consequence of sexual relations ends in the creation of a child, Planned Parenthood commits abortion as a solution to a seeming “inconvenience”—the life of an innocent child.
The organization spreads like wildfire through college campuses across the country with student-led chapters that offer contraception and now abortion pills to students. Just last week, a university in New Hampshire announced that it would start its own contraceptive vending machines on campus filled with “condoms, internal condoms, dental dams, over-the-counter birth control, pregnancy tests, ovulation tests, and Plan B.” All the supplies were donated by Planned Parenthood. As the late Jim Sedlak, founder of STOPP, stated, Planned Parenthood is not only stealing lives but is stealing souls. When sex becomes meaningless and recreational, rather than sacred within marriage between one man and one woman, the soul separates itself further from Our Lord.
STOPP has worked for decades to not only highlight the problems of Planned Parenthood’s “sex education” but to educate and help others combat the evils of Planned Parenthood from their child’s/grandchild’s schools, libraries, and within their communities. We will continue to do so daily under the mantle of Our Blessed Mother and for the glory of Our Lord until we see an end to Planned Parenthood.
