Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai’i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky announced that it will begin allowing women to stockpile abortion pills (mifepristone and misoprostol) in the states of Washington and Hawaii. PPGNHAIK stated that this program, named “Just In Case Abortion Pills,” is designed for women 18 years and older so that they can request abortion pills to keep on hand in case they become pregnant. Planned Parenthood said that women will be “screened” and “counseled” by the organization to ensure that they can make the decision to kill their preborn child with abortion pills if they wish to do so.

There are several causes of concern that come to mind as Planned Parenthood plans to permit stockpiling abortion pills:

1. Non-pregnant women could take this as a contraceptive and harm themselves in the process.

2. There is no oversight on the use of the abortion pills once they are inside someone’s home, leading to potential poisoning and the death of the woman and her preborn baby with them by an abuser.

3. There is no limit to how many pills a woman can obtain through her visit at Planned Parenthood as she stocks up.

Rebecca Gibron, PPGNHAIK’s CEO, said the following about this initiative: “‘Just In Case Abortion Pills’ gives that person the ability to act quickly and confidently. In states like Washington and Hawai‘i, where leaders support reproductive freedom, we have an opportunity and an obligation to not only protect abortion access but also to expand it.”

An NPR article featured words of support for Planned Parenthood’s evil initiative from Elisa Wells, a cofounder of the abortion referral website, Plan C.* Wells proudly proclaimed that having abortion pills available by mail or having them in advance is not something that many know they can do and that “having a group like Planned Parenthood that does have such trust and name recognition adding those services is really important.” Providing these pills in advance via mail is something that many of the abortion traffickers featured on Plan C’s website have been doing already.

This language used by both women is not only surreal but downright disturbing. They are celebrating the intentional destruction of children growing in the womb and feel an “obligation” to ensure that women can do this anytime and anywhere for any reason.

Wells also made the bold admission that “abortion pills are everywhere, they’re safe, they’re effective, and they’re pretty much unstoppable.”

While we know that a pill designed to kill preborn children in the womb is never safe for the baby and for his/her mother, the fact that abortion pills are everywhere is a horrible reality. We at STOPP will not allow the evil of abortion to deter us from our mission to see an end to it along with the end to Planned Parenthood. However, with this reality in mind, we know that there is a long road ahead in this battle for the protection of children and their mothers and in the defense of Our Lord against the forces of evil.

Let us pray fervently for the end of abortion and all organizations and facilities that promote and commit abortion. Let us also pray for the conversion of minds and hearts and ask for the Holy Spirit’s guidance and wisdom to act accordingly. We will never see the end to these horrors if we rely on ourselves and not Our Lord.

When someone joins our Public Square Outreach event for the first time, it is always a joy. My Reason #7 for this Public Square Outreach is “expanded activism opportunities for a variety of foot soldiers.”

It’s a Baby Waco takes place at Planned Parenthood Waco on the fourth Saturday of each month from 8 to 10 AM. We pray, hold signs, and visit along the public right-of-way of Texas Highway 6, a long grassy stretch highly visible to passing traffic.

On the morning of April 25, I spotted an elderly, well-dressed man slowly making his way down a side street.

“Can I help you, sir?”

“I am looking for the pro-life event.”

“How did you get here?”

“I took a bus to the nearest stop—on the other side of Highway 6. Then I walked over the viaduct and down the street.”

I was astonished. Later, I measured his walk—over three-tenths of a mile!

Our team warmly welcomed Robert and set up a chair for him. Robert enjoyed the mild spring morning with a sign leaning against his knees as he prayed the rosary.

When breakfast tacos arrived, Robert declined to eat. He remained seated, praying and enjoying the fresh air.

As I turned for my share of tacos, Robert offered a $20 donation. I was of two minds about accepting the donation, but I accepted his generosity.

“How did you hear about today’s event?” I asked.

He said he read about it in the St. Louis Catholic Church bulletin and showed me the article. Each month, I send a bulletin notice to local churches. Thank you, St. Louis Church, for making this divine appointment possible.

As we started to load our signs back into our billboard truck, one of our faithful foot soldiers offered to drive Robert back to his residence.

The next It’s a Baby Waco outreach is May 22, and we look forward to seeing our newest foot soldier; a member of the Pro-Life Waco team will provide two-way transportation for Robert.
