“Wait but a little while, my soul, wait for God to keep his promise, and in heaven you will have good things of all kinds, overflowing the cup of his bounty. But if you are full of uncontrolled yearning for the good things of this present life, you will lose those which belong to heaven and eternal life. Let the things of time be for you to use, but those of eternity the goal of your longings. None of the good things of this world can satisfy you; it was not to enjoy them alone that you were created.”
