People often lack caution or finesse when speaking. They offend easily, they don’t think, or they intend to create animosity. Because of this, we must always choose our words carefully and beware of labels.

Recently, a friend told me that he was studying the life of Blessed Alexandrina Maria da Costa. Blessed Alexandrina was chosen by God to be a “victim soul”—one who offers up her suffering for the sake of others in union with the cross of Christ.
It can stalk us, bite a slice out of our lives, return again and bite again, and even as we bleed and hobble, we prefer to believe nothing has happened.
