Get Ready for Respect Life Month

By The Culture of Life Studies Team

October is usually celebrated as Respect Life Month—a month during which there is an added emphasis on respect for the dignity of the human person. Respect Life Month is a great reminder of why we work so hard to end abortion and other threats to life, but also why our society so desperately needs a culture of life.

To help build this culture of life, what can you do in your own home? Start small, but be committed. Think of this October as your family’s jumpstart to living a culture of life more fully in your household. Though it may be hard to think about adding more activities to an already busy school schedule, Respect Life Month is the perfect time to add culture-of-life activities into your daily life to build that necessary foundation grounded in the truth for the next generation.

Enhance your curriculum

Although you’ve probably started your school year already, it is never too late to add culture-of-life activities into the classroom. Give your children the intellectual and academic foundation they need to be effective communicators of the culture of life. Incorporate Life Is Precious into your curriculum for young elementary students to teach the fundamentals of human development, compassion for others, an understanding of the beauty of each human life, and the importance of standing up for pro-life values in our society.

But how can your children learn about being pro-life outside of their school day? The Culture of Life Studies Program is excited to announce the release of our new coloring and activity book for young children—the only professionally-produced life-affirming coloring book available. Our Miracle of Life Coloring & Activity Book uses simple drawings for children of all ages that teach culture-of-life values in everyday living.

A coloring book with an important message

The Miracle of Life Coloring & Activity Book includes nearly 40 full-page activities to color and discover, such as the ABCs of Life, puzzles, mazes, connect-the-dots, and other fun activities that teach about the uniqueness of every human person. Children will read about pro-life saints and heroes who made enormous sacrifices in order to fully live out the culture of life and care for others. Role models such as Saint John Paul II and Mother Teresa gave up everything to serve God and promote the dignity of the human person. Saint Gianna Molla treasured the life of her preborn child so much that she was willing to give up her own life to save her daughter.

In today’s culture-of-death society, children need to see these examples of faith and heroism, people who exemplify the virtues of the culture of life, and people who are willing to give up everything in order to protect and defend life. With the ABCs of Life coloring pages, children see how the culture of life is found in everyday life and how innocent babies deserve to be protected, loved, and cared for by their families. All human beings—young and old—deserve dignity and respect. If we instill these values in our children while they are still young, we will be able to help change society to respect every human being’s life in future generations. The Miracle of Life Coloring & Activity Book makes a great gift, classroom supplement, or evangelization tool. Conveniently priced at $4.95, the coloring book is also available in bulk discounts. To order, call 888-546-2580 or go online to to get your copy today!
