Habitat for Humanity helps PP open an abortuary
We have received news from our Associate group in Sarasota, Florida that Planned Parenthood plans to build a new killing center in the Rosemary District, north of downtown Sarasota. But according to zoning rules, PP cannot do this unless a liner building, intended as multifamily, on Cohen Way, is built at the back of the lot.
PP approached the Planning Board and asked for a five-year extension, since it is not a builder and couldn't find a buyer for this lot. In order for PP to get a certificate of occupancy, it must get a building permit for the residential building. However, the board refused PP's request.
Unfortunately, PP found a creative solution to its problem, with the help of Habitat for Humanity. PP sold land to Habitat for $10.
S0, Habitat for Humanity, an organization that claims to be a Christian ministry, is now working with PP. Habitat for Humanity said that this was only a real estate transaction, but PP could not have opened the abortion facility if the lot was not used for a residential building, so, yes, Habitat for Humanity is helping PP open its doors.
According to Habitat for Humanity's web site,
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety.
Apparently, Habitat believes that living next to PP, an organization that murders innocent preborn babies, pushes pornography onto children and covers up for rapists is a place where people can "live in dignity and safety."
At a meeting of the Sarasota City Commission on May 5, the commission approved a plan to get the PP abortuary opened, based on the agreement with Habitat. A letter that PP filed with the city before the meeting said, "We are excited to have Habitat be a part of the Planned Parenthood team."
We encourage all STOPPers to contact Habitat for Humanity and demand they break this agreement: Habitat for Humanity, 1757 N. East Ave., Sarasota, FL 34234, 941-365-0700, tsouza@sarasotahabitat.com.
We also encourage you to contact Habitat for Humanity International to register your complaint. You can reach them at 1-800-HABITAT. They also have a complaint line: 1-800-461-9330.
Please contact both the Sarasota and the international office and let them know that Habitat should have nothing to do with Planned Parenthood.

PP has non-physicians killing preborn babies
We received news that Arizona's state Board of Nursing recently voted to allow nurse practitioners to perform suction aspiration abortions. Planned Parenthood in Arizona supports this and, it was revealed, PP has had nurse practitioners committing abortions in Arizona for many years.
At a Tucson PP facility, Mary Andrews had been performing illegal aspiration abortions on preborn babies as old as 16 weeks since 2001. The state Board of Nursing chose to "impose no penalty, saying that they never before ruled that second-trimester abortions should not be done by nurse practitioners." Thus Andrews has not been held accountable for her previous illegal activity and the only restriction now on Arizona nurse-practitioners is that they are prohibited from committing abortions beyond the 13th week of pregnancy.
This brings up the question of how many PP facilities nationwide actually have non-physicians performing abortions.
According to the Center for Reproductive Rights, there are now seven states that do not require that abortions be committed by physicians. These are Arizona, Kansas, New Hampshire, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia.
Through our own research, we found that 11 PP clinics in four of these states have non-physicians performing abortions.
In Arizona, there are four PP clinics that have non-physicians performing abortions: Margaret Sanger Center, Glendale Health Center, Women's Surgical Center and Tempe Health Center.
In New Hampshire, there are two: West Lebanon Health Center and Manchester Health Center.
In Oregon, there are four: Central Oregon Health Center, Southeast Portland Health Center, Beaverton Health Center and Salem Health Center.
In Vermont, PP's Barre Health Center also has non-physicians committing abortions.
PP is in support of non-physicians performing abortions, allows this at its own clinics and will do everything it can to get more and more people killing preborn babies to increase its profit. In 2006-2007, PP received an estimated $126 million from killing children. This is a $13 million increase from the year before.
Get PP out of your community! Update yourselves on our three-part plan for how to get PP out of your town, school and our pocketbooks (i.e. end its government funding).

New Texas PP clinic pushes PP's latest business scheme
Planned Parenthood of North Texas has opened a new clinic at 2718 Eldorado Parkway, Suite 106 in McKinney, Texas. To promote the new facility, PPNT is pushing Planned Parenthood's "Pills Now, Pay Later" scheme.
Under the "Pills Now" business model, a client comes into PP and can receive 12 months of birth control pills while paying only for the first month at that time. The customer gives PP a credit or debit card and is charged a monthly fee for each of the next 11 months, until all the pills are paid for.
A quick look at the finances behind this scheme reveals why PP ran a special workshop at its 2008 annual conference to encourage affiliates to offer this as a business opportunity. According to data we have received, a month's supply of birth control pills costs Planned Parenthood under $2.50. We called PPNT and they told us that they charge its customers from $26 to $31 for the pills. Thus, the 12-month supply of pills costs PP less than $30. So, what the customer pays at the first visit covers the costs and the additional 11 payments are all profit for PP!
Once informed of the facts, it would be incredible if any sane person would still consider PP a benevolent organization worthy of support and taxpayer funding.

As we approach Protest the Pill Day, it is important to know how the pill can actually kill preborn babies and even discuss why married couples would consider relying on contraception in general. The following is a commentary written by American Life League's President, Judie Brown.
Is Contraception the Cause of Abortion?
Let's think about what contraception is and why a married couple would use it. Contraception employs either a chemical or a device that is designed to prevent the human sperm from fertilizing the human egg, or a chemical or device that works (at least part of the time) to destroy a human being who is but a few days old. In either case, the method being used is supposed to make it possible to have marital relations without a baby being the result. Or, put simply, the couple using contraception is saying no to God.
The couple wants to have the pleasure without taking the risk of conceiving a baby. In other words, the two people have made a decision that does not conform to God's plan for marriage and the procreation of children. But chances are, in today's society, this couple may not know that contraception is wrong. They may not realize that God has a perfect plan for marriage. They simply may not be aware that most popular types of so-called contraceptives may kill their children.
I am sure there may be couples who do know the facts and are still willing to tell God to mind His own business – they will get back to Him when their plans allow for a child. But I fear there are many, many more who have never been taught any of the moral and ethical reasons why the practice of contraception is wrong. Yet even if the couple is functioning in ignorance, the reality is that when a couple chooses to contracept, they negate the value of a child. If they happen to conceive in spite of their efforts to avoid it, what do you think happens? Well, the first idea that pops into their minds is that "this is an unplanned pregnancy; we were using protection and it failed."
All too frequently, this leads to a discussion about abortion and a potential death – the death of the preborn child. The fact is, many couples make the abortion decision or the mother makes it alone because it seems logical. Their "plans" failed and the "problem" must be solved. Many of these couples also do not realize that abortion is an act of murder.
Contraception lulls the couple into a moral fog regarding the meaning of sexuality and the gift of children. Contraception transforms the marriage act from an act of love into an act of selfishness. Where there should be a total self-giving to each other, there exists a wall that separates love from life.
To be true to our principles as people who are pro-God and pro-life, we must oppose contraception. We must make it clear, for the benefit of all those who are unaware or ignorant of the truths involved, that the practice of contraception is wrong; it is anti-life; it is anti-love.

According to WTVG-TV in Toledo, PP Northwest Ohio's CEO turned in her resignation in January and Planned Parenthood Federation of America had to help this affiliate.
