Training and Activism Weekend was a great success

Thanks to all of you who participated in our Training and Activism Weekend held January 20-22, 2008 in Washington D.C. Over 1,000 adults and young adults attended our conference events, such as activism on the streets and talks from our experts here at American Life League.

It was also an inspiration to see so many young people participate in the March for Life. The 35th March for Life's theme was: Build Unity on the Life Principles throughout America: No Exception! No Compromise!

Numerous marches took place in local communities across America too.

We apologize for sending this week's Wednesday STOPP Report out a day late. We hope you understand with it being such a busy week and weekend.

Planned Parenthood celebrates 35 years of Roe v. Wade

As pro-lifers across the country remember that nearly 49 million babies have been murdered due to the legalization of abortion since the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision, Planned Parenthood celebrates this decision as "reproductive freedom."

On Planned Parenthood's web site, it states, "Reproductive freedom is still a political target for extremists, and the battle isn't just being waged over abortion, but over access to contraception and medically accurate sex education." Planned Parenthood also accuses those who are speaking for theĀ innocent inside of their mothers' wombs as "extremists," while America's largest abortion chain celebrates its success of helping eliminate one-third of our current generation.

Planned Parenthood admitted that its focus is not only on keeping abortion legal, but pushing so-called contraception. After all, selling contraceptives is Planned Parenthood's largest source of clinic income. To view Planned Parenthood's real agenda, view any of American Life League's video reports at: http://www.all.org/newsroom_allreport.php.

Planned Parenthood announces $10 million effort for pro-abortion candidates

On the 35th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, Planned Parenthood launched its One Million Strong campaign which focuses on getting one million Americans to vote for pro-abortion candidates in 2008.

Yet our tax dollars are helping Planned Parenthood afford such a campaign. Last year alone, Planned Parenthood received over $350 million from our pockets. This is an outrage! We must get money out of the hands of Planned Parenthood.

LIVE coverage from American Life League in front of Planned Parenthood

As part of American Life League's Training and Activism Weekend, participants and hundreds of other pro-lifers prayed in front of Planned Parenthood on Monday, January 21. American Life League covered this peaceful protest live on our web site and you can see the footage by following the directions from clicking on the banner "LIVE video and pictures from Training and Activism Weekend" on www.ALL.org.

We did not expect to see a large crowd. However, the sidewalks were full of pro-lifers praying and being silent as we walked around the corner. Since there was no room for our group to fit on the sidewalk that is right next to the Planned Parenthood clinic in Washington D.C., we had to go across the street and stand on that sidewalk as well. Some people were kneeling, some were praying the rosary and others were standing in silence. One pro-life protestor was even sitting in a chair with a large sign that read, "Abortion Chop Shop." Each time I pray in front of Planned Parenthood or another abortion facility, the reality of what these organizations do behind closed doors sinks in deeper inside of me.

It was truly an honor to see so many STOPPers come out to peacefully protest in front of Planned Parenthood in Washington, D.C. To start a peaceful protest in front of Planned Parenthood in your area, visit the ALL's Map Room: Activism Against Planned Parenthood web site.

About 500 pro-lifers marched around Planned Parenthood clinic in Florida

According to an article in Florida's Herald Tribune, pro-lifers handed out pro-life literature, prayed, participated in Mass and marched peacefully around the Planned Parenthood clinic last week as part of an annual even that has taken place for 10 years in Sarasota, Florida.

The Diocese of Venice sponsored the event which had buses running back and forth from St. Mary's Catholic Church to the Planned Parenthood clinic bringing about 500 pro-lifers to participate in the peaceful protests.

This is an outstanding amount of people to have witness for the preborn. We encourage the STOPPers in Sarasota to continue this on a weekly basis.

Next week: New look

We are happy to announce that next week the Wednesday STOPP Report will debut its new look. As technology is constantly changing, we are slowly making changes as well. We hope you like it and feel free to pass along any comments or suggestions. One change that has taken place already is that this report is now coming from the e-mail address of stopp@ALL.org.

God bless you and look for us next week!
