Merry Christmas from American Life League!
Since it is Christmas and all of us are entering a new year, we are sending out special wishes from the STOPP (Stop Planned Parenthood) department at American Life League. We’d also like to introduce our STOPP team and give you a little background on who WE are…
The STOPP department is made up of four amazing people. Our team consists of pro-life activists that have a variety of experience that makes American Life League such a strong and unified effort in leading the defeat against Planned Parenthood.
Introducing the STOPP Team
- Andrew Flusche, Staff Attorney
Andrew is an attorney licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from the University of Dallas, and he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law. Andrew's primary responsibilities include congressional education, legal research, and planning legal battles against Planned Parenthood. Andrew enjoys bicycling and woodworking, but he does not recommend doing both at the same time. You can contact Andrew at aflusche@all.org.
- Marie Hahnenberg, Researcher
Marie is a former teacher and director of a Students for Life chapter from Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is the current director of the American Life League’s Map Room: Activism Against Planned Parenthood web site. Marie’s other responsibilities include co-host of the Rock for Life’s podcast, researcher for American Life League, and editor of the Wednesday STOPP Report. Marie loves the holiday tradition of playing football in the snow; however she warns others that playing catch with a frozen turkey may be dangerous. mhahnenberg@all.org.
- G. Michaeleen (Mike) Sedlak, Events Coordinator
Mike joined the American Life League team in January 2007. She has a great love for children and was a former elementary teacher with a special certification in pre-school. Mike also has been the head coordinator in religious education for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation. Mike presently works in the STOPP department as events coordinator and offers administrative support. She is currently busy planning the American Life League events to commemorate the Feast of the Annunciation. Mike keeps everyone on their toes otherwise they have to do a dance or sing a song. You can contact Michaeleen at msedlak@all.org.
- Jim Sedlak, Vice President of American Life League
Jim has been fighting Planned Parenthood for 27 years. He co-founded and served as director of STOPP (Stop Planned Parenthood) in the state of New York from 1985 to 1994. He founded and served as president of STOPP International from 1994 to 1998, when it merged into American Life League. Jim has been recognized by Planned Parenthood Federation of America as one of the 15 most active fighters against PP sex education programs. He worked 30 years for IBM, receiving numerous awards and retired in 1993 to work full-time in the pro-life movement. Jim is the author of PARENT POWER!! and has appeared on many TV and radio shows. Jim is also featured on American Life League’s CD series, STOP Planned Parenthood. It’s a delight to work with Jim because he really expects us all to laugh at his corny jokes. You can contact Jim at jsedlak@all.org.
Planned Parenthood denied once again
Planned Parenthood of Mid and South Michigan was denied a $10,000 grant from the United Way of Jackson County. Board members of the United Way rejected the grant because it “would be too controversial and cause too much conflict.”
The Mid and South Michigan Planned Parenthood affiliate is made up of nine facilities, one of which offers surgical abortions. This clinic is located at 3100 Professional Drive, Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Of the 29 Planned Parenthood locations in Michigan, there is only one reported regularly scheduled protest. This protest is located at the 3100 Professional Drive clinic. The leader of this protest, held on the first Saturday of each month from 10 to 11 am, is Pinckney Pro-Life.
Denial of funding to Planned Parenthood is definitely on the rise. This is happening thanks to your participation in making people and governments aware of Planned Parenthood’s true philosophy. Planned Parenthood knows when a community does not want it in town. Make it known in your area. Begin a protest. Type up flyers, newsletters, letters to the editors, show up at the clinic, etc. Be the voice. Whatever you do, get something started in this New Year.
To get more involved in starting a peaceful protest, contact us at protests@all.org or visit our ALL Map Room.
News flash for Planned Parenthood
The following is a letter to the editor, “Extremists not the picketers outside of Planned Parenthood,” by Pattie Colvin of Vero Beach, published in TCPALM in Florida.
I’ve got a news flash for the CEO of Planned Parenthood. The overwhelming majority of the community on the Treasure Coast does not value the so-called education and health services provided by Planned Parenthood. However, she sure does paint a pretty picture for those who are not aware of what really goes on behind the walls there. The name of Planned Parenthood is a deception; it should be called Planned Genocide.
The general public doesn’t have a clue that Planned Parenthood gives out pills that kill babies and holds sex classes for minors — Teen Time —– and guarantees their parents won’t find out. Why shouldn’t they give free screening for sexually transmitted diseases? Promoting promiscuity is the reason the kids get infected!
Last year Planned Parenthood’s annual report stated 264,943 babies were aborted and they [received] $305 million of tax money …. How’s that for family planning?
She dares to call those of us who believe in the sanctity of human life “anti-family and anti-sex education individuals.” We, the majority, do believe in family; we don’t kill our kids; we love them, and raise them with family values and teach them abstinence until marriage.
Extremist? No, I don’t consider any of us that picket outside of Planned Parenthood extremist. The extremists are those few lost souls who drive by and give us a nasty finger gesture.
Majority? Hey readers, if you want to know if the majority are those who value life or throw it away, just come by Planned Parenthood and count the honks for life.
Praise God for statements such as these; please continue to be a voice for the preborn.
