Planned Parenthood hits Utah bars with condoms

Experts on HIV/AIDS have reported for years that while condoms reduce the risk of a sexual partner from catching HIV from an infected partner by approximately 85 percent, that leaves a 15 percent risk of getting the disease.

If a 15-percent risk doesn't sound too bad, consider this: If you put one bullet in a six-shot revolver, spin the chamber, put the gun to your head and pull the trigger, the chance of killing yourself is 16.7 percent.

It is true that the chance of killing yourself in the above scenario is less than if you had two or three bullets in the revolver. But anyone who recommended the strategy of encouraging people to play Russian roulette with one bullet in the gun would not be taken seriously.

Yet, it appears that Planned Parenthood in Utah is intent on recommending just that. Volunteers from Planned Parenthood and the Utah AIDS Foundation are going to bars and handing out condoms in order to prevent HIV transmission.

During one of the latest "Pub Crawls," PP volunteers handed out over 3,000 condoms and information at more than 30 bars in Salt Lake City. This is what PP calls "education and prevention."

PP volunteers are doing this by approaching young people who attend night clubs, dance clubs, gay and lesbian bars, and other types of bars, using these opening lines: "Hi, I'm from Planned Parenthood and the Utah AIDS Foundation. Would you like a condom?"

Planned Parenthood claims that it is the authority for providing "medically accurate" sex information. We wonder how many of the 3,000 people who received these condoms were told of the failure rate. We also pray that none will die as a result of this PP-encouraged activity.

Renovations of Planned Parenthood clinics in Michigan

Planned Parenthood is very good at convincing its high-dollar donors that it provides a positive influence on a community - even though that is not true. Planned Parenthood of South Central Michigan recently announced that it has convinced donors to fork over $4.6 million so it can build new killing centers and upgrade older ones.

As a result of this money, a new clinic in Battle Creek has been built and will open next month, while a planned renovation of the Kalamazoo clinic will begin in the spring. In addition, Rev. Mark Pawlowski, CEO of PP of South Central Michigan, said that PP has "recently opened health centers in Coldwater, Hillsdale, Sturgis and Three Rivers to better serve clients in those communities."

However, the article in the Battle Creek Enquirer failed to mention that each of these four new "health centers" are located in county health departments and provide services only one day per week. These are inexpensive ways for PP to reach a whole new audience - at taxpayer expense.

We encourage everyone to join tens of thousands of other Americans, by signing our petition to stop taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.

Susan G. Komen and Planned Parenthood fund upcoming conference

Each year, Planned Parenthood faces the problem of how to replace customers that, for one reason or another, stop buying their birth-control products. According to PPs own data, it loses hundreds of thousands of customers yearly.

Since it faces this problem each year, PP has worked out a business model. The model begins with sex education. PP spends over $45 million per year on sex education as a means of attracting new customers to the organization.

We have learned that Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties will hold a "Young Women's Health Conference" at California State University, Fullerton on December 1. This event is clearly designed to attract new customers and will be funded by Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties and Susan G. Komen for the Cure - Orange County Affiliate.

As Planned Parenthood explains, "The participants will receive information intended to increase their awareness of the importance of living a healthy lifestyle." Planned Parenthood intends to do this by having workshops on pregnancy prevention, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, healthy relationships, body image and female health.

According to Planned Parenthood, the conference aims to attract about 150 teenage girls, ages 13 to 19, and it will also hold a parent/guardian workshop for adults to "help provide answers and encourage healthy and responsible decision-making to the young participants."

What that means is that Planned Parenthood is going to have an opportunity to sell its products and services to 150 unsuspecting teens.

Planned Parenthood runs these kinds of customer-recruiting programs all across the nation. We encourage those that oppose PP to be at every one of these events and to pass out copies of our brochure: Planned Parenthood exploits teens.

Video exposing Planned Parenthood's sex ed "too explicit" for some web sites

One of the major problems we face in our efforts against Planned Parenthood is trying to get the average person to comprehend just how horrible PP's sex education really is.

In our latest effort to do this, American Life League produced a video exposing PP's endorsement of the sex-ed book for children called It's Perfectly Normal. The video, which you can view online, contains censored versions of the pictures from the book.

The video report was removed from Vidilife.com, Sharkle.com and Hi5.com for "inappropriate content" and was flagged on Metacafe.com for viewers over 18. Yet, Planned Parenthood hands the book out to seventh graders and recommends it for children as young as 10.

We encourage all of you to view the video and to link to it from your web sites and blogs. It is time that the public became aware of the truly perverted sex education offered by Planned Parenthood.

Teach abstinence

Below is a letter from a pro-lifer in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida who submitted a letter to the editor of the Florida Times-Union newspaper making it clear that Planned Parenthood's sex-education programs do not work.

Teach abstinence

This is in response to the letter from the public relations director of Planned Parenthood, who denounced abstinence education and advocated Planned Parenthood's "comprehensive sex education."

For about 50 years, Planned Parenthood has been teaching our children this comprehensive sex education.

During that time, teen pregnancies, STDs, unwed mothers, child abuse and abortion have skyrocketed.

Clearly, an education that places emphasis on experimentation with dangerous behavior and reliance upon contraception does not work.

In fact, a recent Health and Human Services study recently concluded that such programs "exaggerate the effectiveness of condoms and encourage a false sense of security."

Further evidence to refute Planned Parenthood's misleading publicity can be found in the recent results of a study by the Journal of Research on Adolescence, which showed a clear correlation between abstaining teens and success at school.

The results show a corresponding behavioral problem with low grades, alcohol, drug use and dropout rates for sexually active teens.

The moral is clear: Teaching our kids abstinence results in success; teaching them dissolute sexual activity results in failure.

Planned Parenthood uses its sex-ed programs to lure our children into lives of sexual sin. We encourage you to oppose these programs and distribute our Planned Parenthood steals souls brochure.

Life saved at Planned Parenthood in New York

A pro-lifer in Albany, New York submitted this success story, which took place outside the Albany Planned Parenthood clinic. She shared this story to us through the American Life League's Map Room web page.

I pray twice a month at this PP. Although I was not there on 11-10-07 when this incident occurred, my prayer partners related it to me. A woman approached them and said that several months ago her daughter came to this PP to have an abortion. When she saw them praying, she changed her mind. The woman then showed them a photo on her cell phone of her grandson! They would not have known of this if the woman had not stopped to tell them. We have no idea how many women change their minds and we don't know about it. Thanks be to God that babies are being saved by our prayer and presence.

If you are interested in starting a protest at a local Planned Parenthood, please visit our web site and learn how to begin! If you are participating in a peaceful protest, please let us know!
