Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signs law after pressure from PP

On September 19, we reported that PP was defeated by not receiving a $24 million budget increase for Medi-Cal services.

Unfortunately, Governor Schwarzenegger gave into pressure from Planned Parenthood and signed a bill (S.B.-94) which will give $3.2 million to family planning services.

Planned Parenthood had initiated a large statewide publicity campaign into getting Schwarzenegger to sign this bill. He signed it a day before the deadline to pass or veto bills on his desk.

Planned Parenthood college group hosted “sex toy party”

The University of North Carolina student newspaper has promoted the fact that on October 9, a student club held a “sex toy party” on campus.

Students that are part of the Planned Parenthood group VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood call this night an “educational” and “fun” event while discussing sexual health issues.

As an article in the university’s newspaper explains, the students were “handed goody bags of colored condoms, lubricant and candy.” This event also included a raffle for a vibrator.

As a letter to the editor explained several days after the event, the newspaper did not report on a Carolina Students for Life gathering that featured Dr. Tony Levatino, a former abortionist.

To contact the student editor of the newspaper, Erin Zureick, call 919-962-0750.

To contact the editorial production manager, Stacy Wynn, call 919-962-4115.

Study shows greater number of abortions where contraception is available

On October 11, the Guttmacher Institute, the research arm of Planned Parenthood, released a report calling for the legalization of abortion worldwide.

A close look at the report, however, reveals some interesting facts about abortion and contraception.

Planned Parenthood frequently claims that contraception reduces the abortion rate. Yet, when Phil Eddy, Rock for Life’s chapter program and street team director looked at the data in the latest Guttmacher report, he noted:.

  • As you look at this chart, you can see that the illegal rate of abortion in Africa is lower than the legal rate in Europe.
  • Central America’s rate (legal and illegal) is lower than North America’s legal rate. So countries whose people have [fewer] resources than us are aborting at a lower rate.
  • The rate of abortion in “developed nations” is almost twice as high (50 abortions per 100 births, compared to 29 abortions per 100 births) as “developing nations.”

A comment made by the president and chief executive officer of the Guttmacher Institute, Sharon Camp, said, “The only way to decrease unsafe abortion is to increase contraception.” As Phil Eddy responds, “Where is the research to back this up? Europe has contraception available, Africa doesn’t. Which one has a lower abortion rate? The place where there are fewer legal abortions available.”

Announcing American Life League’s map room: Activism against Planned Parenthood

American Life League is happy to announce a new web tool for pro-lifers to communicate nationally and work together by conducting peaceful efforts in front of each and every Planned Parenthood throughout the country.

The American Life League’s Map Room is the official web page on Activism Against Planned Parenthood. Our goal is to save the innocent lives of the preborn. By doing this, ALL encourages all to reach out to the women who are arriving at clinics in a very peaceful and Christ-like manner.

As STOPPers we also must pray for the conversion of Planned Parenthood employees.

If we want abortion to stop, we all need to take a very active role in educating others on the truth behind Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion chain in America. During its 2005-06 fiscal year, Planned Parenthood received $902.8 million. Clinic income, which means customer-paid dollars, came to $345.1 million and one-third of the clinic income is from performing surgical abortions.

We encourage all pro-lifers to take a stand and help shut them down.

One part in closing down Planned Parenthood is partaking in regular – daily or weekly – peaceful protests.

Simply click on a state and you will see all of the Planned Parenthoods that are in that state, including all of the known peaceful protests that are happening at each clinic. Visit the map room and bookmark this page. It is a valuable resource enabling people around the country to work together to close down Planned Parenthood.

The information on this web site is based on the 2006 Planned Parenthood annual survey that American Life League conducts each year. If you notice that there are any errors on the reporting of the protests and/or clinics, please let us know at protests@ALL.org.

ALL would like to thank all of those who are currently participating in peaceful protests across the country and especially those who are active in the 40 Days for Life campaign. We encourage all those to continue to hold prayerful vigils, even after the 40 days.
