Scandal: Holy Cross College welcomes Planned Parenthood
On October 24, Holy Cross, a Jesuit Catholic college in Worchester, Massachusetts, is hosting the 2007 Teen Pregnancy Institute conference. Among those giving workshops are representatives from the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts.
Three of the workshops will be given by Planned Parenthood: “Supporting Parents as Primary Sexuality Educators of their Children,” “Beyond Pregnancy Prevention: How to Talk to Teens about HIV and STI Protection,” and “How Do I Protect Thee – Let Me Count the Ways.” These workshops will include “practical guidelines and techniques for including the topic of HIV and STI prevention in conversations about protection methods.”
The brochure for this conference is online.
Other workshops include information on birth control, Depo-Provera and emergency contraception. One will be given by a representative of NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts.
Please contact this college to tell them they are violating the teachings of the Catholic Church by allowing Planned Parenthood and these other organizations to speak at their college.

City of Aurora caves in to Planned Parenthood
Pro-lifers fighting Planned Parenthood in Aurora, Illinois have known for some time that there are people in the city administration who want to help PP open its killing center. On Monday, Aurora’s mayor, Tom Weisner, approved a temporary permit for the PP center in Aurora.
Aurora’s city attorney, Alayne Wingartz, stated that a special-use permit was not required for PP to open.
However, the Pro-Life Action League is a party to two court cases directly involving Planned Parenthood. The Pro-Life Action League and Fox Valley Families Against Planned Parenthood sued the city of Aurora because police officers were interfering with their protests.
The other lawsuit was filed by Eric Scheidler and other Aurora residents against PP and Steve Trombley, Planned Parenthood/Chicago Area CEO, because PP made false statements about them in a full-page ad in Aurora’s Beacon News.
See story from the Chicago Tribune.
This fight is not over. We encourage all STOPPers to remember Aurora in your prayers.
Two New York Planned Parenthood clinics open
Planned Parenthood has announced the opening of two new facilities in New York.
In Saratoga Springs, the $2.1 million, 4,700-square-foot facility will perform surgical abortions and will also have an area on the second floor for teenagers to hold meetings for a group called TeenView. Click here to read more about this PP abortion facility.
The second PP clinic is at 1040 State Street in Schenectady. This clinic also performs surgical abortions. To read more about this PP abortion facility, click here.
We must work together and get these PP abortion facilities out of our communities! Be sure to read STOPP International’s plan for defeating Planned Parenthood.
Your first effort should be one of education. You must reach out to your community and alert them to the danger of Planned Parenthood. This education should use several avenues:
- Clergy – Planned Parenthood will typically seek the support of local clergy members. Begin an education campaign among the local clergy.
- School officials – One of the major targets of Planned Parenthood is your schools. Look at the health curriculum in the fifth and seventh grades and see if there is any PP influence already there. Remember that PP programs may be under different names, so you will need to research anything that is suspicious. Check books and pamphlets in the school library and see if PP has gotten a foothold.
- Educate the general public – Use a variety of tactics: Write letters to the editor, distribute literature, put up signs around your community, have a rally or information night, write petitions and write newsletters.
- Notify local businesses – Special attention should be given to construction companies, landlords, real estate offices, insurance companies and local hospitals.
- Notify politicians and health officials – Besides educating them on the truth about Planned Parenthood, they should be invited, along with school officials, to your rallies and information nights.
Check our web site for a more in-depth explanation on how to get Planned Parenthood out of your community, sex education programs and defeating government funding of Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood event brings in only one teen
STOPP reported in the August 29 WSR on one of PP’s programs, “Real Life. Real Talk.”
Now we discovered that PP is attempting to hold workshops in Texas.
The first attempt for these workshops was a failure for Planned Parenthood. No one showed up. The second attempt, held at the Church of the Heavenly Rest, an Episcopal church in Abilene, brought in only one teen.
Planned Parenthood is attempting to expand its “Real Life. Real Talk.” program. Watch for any suspicious workshops that have to do with sex education. Planned Parenthood attempted to hold workshops in Pecos, San Angelo and Midland.

Planned Parenthood employee leaves and cancels her abortion
STOPP is very excited to report that another life has been saved. The mother of this preborn baby works at the Planned Parenthood in Silver Spring, Maryland.
The woman who encouraged this mother to keep her child was Olga Fairfax, a regular protestor outside of this PP. On September 25, Olga was speaking with this young mother outside the PP and the young mother admitted to already having had four abortions in the last two years.
Olga gave the mother some American Life League literature and, after speaking with her, the woman decided not to have an abortion. Later in the day, Olga returned to the clinic and discovered that the same young mother she was speaking with earlier walked out of the PP clinic.
It turns out that the reason this young mother was coming out of the PP clinic is that she is a current Planned Parenthood employee and soon will no longer be working there. She hopes to have a baby boy.
