Portland officials cave to Planned Parenthood

Last week, we encouraged you to contact the mayor and commissioners of Portland regarding the new clinic Planned Parenthood is attempting to open there. Since then the Portland Development Commission approved a contract with a developer who will construct the building for PP’s abortion center, among other businesses, and will eventually sell the building to Planned Parenthood.

Precious Children of Portland, the group that is leading the fight against the proposed clinic, sent a further explanation of the situation:

I do not know how many of you heard what happened towards the end of the hearing the other night. A lady who was speaking asked the commissioners if they would like to look at the book Planned Parenthood uses to teach children about sex, It's Perfectly Normal. One of the commissioners responded, "Why would I want to see porn?"

At the hearing on March 14, the head commissioner, Mark Rosenbaum, stopped us from reading from Planned Parenthood's web page.

I could not blame him. It is gross.

These 50-year-old men think that the things that Planned Parenthood writes to children are not appropriate and also think that the instructional books are basically porn. And yet, these same men voted for Planned Parenthood because they think their sex education is good!

On one hand it is gross and cannot be shared at a public hearing, but on the other it is ok for a multi-million dollar company to get a city block for cheap and receive the blessing of these men to teach 10-year-old minority daughters this filth.

It is the same old thing, "Don't dare show this to me or my family, but it is ok for the people in North and North East Portland." If that's not racist, what is?

Please call and write these commissioners and the mayor and the papers. This is just sick.

Visit Precious Children of Portland for details on how to contact people.

However, in similar news, one of the commissioners was asked to resign today from Catholic Charities after the article in the Oregonian mentioned that she was for killing of precious little babies and at the same time on the board of directors of Catholic Charities.

Please keep calling and writing. It does work. The mayor knows this is a powder keg and can’t remain neutral. A few more calls and letters to his office and the newspapers, will soon make him move from neutral to, "Why in the world did I ever let these commissioners even talk to Planned Parenthood and their porno and butcher shop?"

NO MORE BLACK GENOCIDE in Portland.

We encourage our readers to continue to send support to the people of Portland through contacting the mayor and commissioners. Please also continue to pray, the battle is not over yet and Planned Parenthood can still be stopped from building its new facility.

Florida approves $8 million in bonds for Planned Parenthood expansion

Late last week the county commission in Sarasota, Florida voted unanimously to issue $8 million in bonds for a 22,795-square foot facility for Planned Parenthood, to be located at 736 Central Ave. in Sarasota.

Commissioners reported that they were inundated with e-mails which demanded tax money not be given to Planned Parenthood. However, county officials maintained that this money would not be granted from public funds but the funds would be raised by issuing bonds that are purchased by the public.

The county officials also added that “counties and municipalities are allowed by law to issue financing to assist various nonprofit corporations that would contribute to the economic development of the area.” This is precisely the problem.

Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, the affiliate that is proposing the new clinic, has nearly $5 million sitting in the bank, according to its 2005 federal form 990. Obviously Planned Parenthood has money, but has duped county officials into thinking it needs aid.

Furthermore, while it is true that in this case tax money would not be used to fund Planned Parenthood, it is still tremendously scandalous that the county would deem the deadly work of PP something that would “contribute to the development of the area.” One of Planned Parenthood’s biggest lies is that it is an asset to communities when in reality Planned Parenthood brings death and other detrimental effects.

Certainly an organization that commits the murder of a quarter of a million children every year is not worthy of receiving any financial aid from the government, no matter what form in which it may come. However, there is still something community members can do to prevent Planned Parenthood from getting its hands on this money and expanding its evil operations.

The single most important thing that anyone can do in the fight against Planned Parenthood is to educate their community on what it actually does. Planned Parenthood can only continue to operate in the good graces of a community if people buy into its lies. If people truly understood the tremendous evil that PP commits through murdering children, perverting young minds and hiding medical information from parents of minors, then no one would consider allowing it to operate in their community.

As mentioned by the county officials, the money that will be issued to Planned Parenthood is to come from bonds purchased by the public. We encourage our readers to share with their family, friends and community leaders the facts about Planned Parenthood and instruct them to not purchase any bonds that will provide PP more funds. It would be a clear sign that the community does not support Planned Parenthood if no one purchased the bonds the county plans to issue.

People can easily get this message out by writing letters to their newspapers, officials and even Planned Parenthood stating that they do not want this facility in their community. Finally, members of this community should also stand as a visible, peaceful witness at the proposed site even before the new facility is ever even constructed.

The message of these actions is clear: Planned Parenthood hurts our communities.

Planned Parenthood mocks Christian beliefs in newest ad

On Monday, April 16, Planned Parenthood of the Golden Gate, the affiliate that is notorious for some of PP’s most offensive material, once again assaulted Christianity through its newest television ad.

The news release advertising the launch of the ad gives a play by play of its content:

A young couple (early twenties) are embracing in bed.

Woman: "So, I guess I should ask if you have any…"
Man: "Any what?"
W: "You know."
M: "Shhh. Let's not ruin the moment."

CUT TO: Sitting on the headboard is a male angel intently watching the couple. He is nodding his head in seeming approval. Just then, a female angel materializes beside him.

Girl Angel: "What are doing?"
Boy Angel: "Uhh...I like to watch."
Girl Angel: "You're sick."
Girl Angel: "You know you're the Guardian Angel of Safe Sex? Are you gonna do something?"
Boy Angel: "Alright, alright. Keep your halo on. Watch This."

He points a TV remote at the couple and rewinds the scene.

W: "So, do you have any protection?"
M: "Yeah, of course."
W: "Amen!"

Boy Angel: (to Girl Angel) "You're kinda hot!"

In response, the girl angel uses the remote to turn him off and make him disappear.

This ad implies three very scandalous things: First of all that an angel would take a perverse voyeuristic pleasure in the sexual exploits of people. Secondly, and even more outrageous, that guardian angels, given to each of us by God as protectors and guides, would promote condom usage. Finally, that using contraception is a “good Christian” thing to do.

The fact of the matter is that the use of contraception is intrinsically evil and denies all of the fundamental aspects of the marital embrace. Beyond that, condoms fail to prevent the transmission of dangerous diseases at frighteningly high rates.

To suggest that a guardian angel would promote an act that is so dangerous to the life and soul of the person in their charge is a clear attack on Christian teachings.

What is worse is that Planned Parenthood even admits that it is. The press release states that Lisa Sargent, chaplain at Planned Parenthood Golden Gate said, "I love the fact that this ad challenges popular conceptions of religion and sexuality."

Sadly this attack is nothing new. In the book Sacred Work, one can learn the history of Planned Parenthood’s need to promote the lie that using contraception is responsible Christian behavior. This ad is a clear attempt to spread this lie to people of faith.

We encourage you to contact the religious leaders of your community and expose Planned Parenthood’s attack on religion and morality. David Bereit, executive director of American Life League, gives a comprehensive look at PP’s offensive campaign against religion in the STOPP CD set. You can also find more information regarding how to fight Planned Parenthood’s attack on Christianity by reading Jim Sedlak’s article in the September/October 2006 issue of Celebrate Life magazine.

Finally, remember to pray for all of those are affected by Planned Parenthood’s evil work, even its own employees and volunteers. Ask especially that the guardian angels of all of these people protect and guide them ultimately to heaven.

Planned Parenthood affiliates compete to make offensive and outrageous videos

With the release of its newest ad, Planned Parenthood of the Golden Gate reported that “an anonymous donor has pledged $5,000 dollars to the first affiliate that gets 5,000 views on YouTube.com.” If this sounds familiar, you are right. This is the same promise that Planned Parenthood of Western Washington made regarding their “Speaking of Sex” road trip video that we reported on two weeks ago. If this indeed is the same pledge as mentioned by PPWW then the pledge was made by eBay co-founder Steve Westly, who spoke at Planned Parenthood’s annual conference in California last month.

Since two affiliates have now reported this same $5,000 pledge for views on YouTube, we believe the pledge was issued to all Planned Parenthood affiliates as sort of competition.

In light of the offensiveness of the two videos that we have already seen, we expect that even more outrageous videos may come from Planned Parenthood affiliates across the country as they clamor for this funding.

College students protest International Planned Parenthood’s actions

Yesterday, students at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia participated in a peaceful demonstration called “Food Not Condoms” to protest the contraception International Planned Parenthood pushes on impoverished nations.

"Last year International Planned Parenthood Federation dispensed 103.4 million condoms to starving people. The problem is, you can't eat condoms," said Brittany Shankle, a senior at the University of Mary Washington who coordinated the event.

Students who gathered at the demonstration shared a meal of rice, beans and a tortilla. According to Shankle, “On the American market this meal would cost only 25 cents. With the average cost of a condom at 50 cents, IPPF could feed 206.8 million starving people in a year instead of distributing those condoms.”

She went on to say, "By claiming overpopulation as the problem, these organizations are telling African and South American people that if they didn't exist, starvation wouldn't be a problem. In essence, these policies are prejudiced against minorities and impoverished people."

Food Not Condoms is an event sponsored by Project Plus, one of American Life League’s associate groups. Project Plus is an organization dedicated to revealing the truth about contraception to their college peers.

We congratulate the students of the University of Mary Washington for making a public statement against the unjust policies of International Planned Parenthood and encourage our readers to be active voices against PP at their own campuses and communities.
