Planned Parenthood says love isn’t necessary for sex
Recently on Planned Parenthood’s TeenWire web site, a teen asked, “What is the normal age in which teens have sex?” In typical fashion, Planned Parenthood didn’t really answer the question but instead gave a series of vague “things to think about.” Among these were questions such as, “do we both believe that sex should only be shared in marriage or another committed relationship?” and, “do we both think that people should be in love before having sex?” Planned Parenthood then went on to say, “there are no right and wrong answers to these questions.”
In other words, Planned Parenthood believes it is not necessary for a couple to be married before they have sex. In fact, Planned Parenthood believes it is not even necessary that they love one another. To Planned Parenthood sex is not a holy act that unites spouses; it is a commodity that brings in revenue.
When Planned Parenthood talks about mandating “medically accurate sex ed” programs, this is the kind of thing it is talking about. If you are upset by PP’s attitude toward the gift of human sexuality we encourage you to contact your local schools and youth organizations and insist that Planned Parenthood never be invited in to influence your children.
Finally, please remember that it is the right and obligation of every parent to instruct their children. If you are a parent, please take the time teach your children the truth about God’s gift of our sexuality and advise them to never believe Planned Parenthood’s lies.
Planned Parenthood podcast continues to spread perversion and misinformation
For eight months, Planned Parenthood of Western Washington has been producing a podcast series called “Speaking of Sex,” which covers a variety of issues concerning contraception, sex and abortion. To date there are thirteen episodes, the first posted last July and the most recent on March 16.
To give you an idea of what kind of material is being discussed in these podcasts, some of the titles are:
- Abortion: in the clinics, in the courts
- Gay media
- Sex toys, sex joys
- Exploring the vagina
As you may expect from these titles, the podcasts are full of depravity and misinformation. In one episode erroneous information is presented regarding the abortifacient nature of hormonal contraception. Another episode personifies female genitalia with names and voices. Still another episode takes the listener on a “field trip to a sex toy shop.”
We often say that the most offensive information you can find about Planned Parenthood is in its own material. This frequently updated podcast is a perfect example of this simple fact. The contents of these episodes are so scandalous that even Planned Parenthood tries to give the impression that it has distanced itself from this material.
On the main page listing all of the episodes you will notice a disclaimer stating, “these podcasts may include opinions that may be different from or contrary to those of Planned Parenthood, and Planned Parenthood does not endorse the views expressed.” Don’t be fooled, this is just another case of PP’s subversive double talk. At the same time this disclaimer is displayed PP is vigorously promoting the podcast and publicizing it on the front page of its web site with every new episode. In addition, if you listen to the end of each episode you will hear, “Speaking of Sex is produced by Planned Parenthood of Western Washington.” Clearly, by producing and advertising this program, PP is endorsing it.
If you are looking for an example to show friends, family, community leaders, school boards or government representatives that will fully expose the depravity of Planned Parenthood, these podcasts are a great place to start.
**Warning! Due to the nature of these episodes we caution you to be aware that the material contained within them is very offensive.
Colorado showing Planned Parenthood’s influence
On March 15 a bill was signed into law that will require all Colorado hospitals, pharmacies and rape assistance centers to notify rape victims about the availability of Plan B, the so-called emergency contraceptive regimen.
Similar bills have been defeated for the past five years with opponents citing the moral and religious rights of organizations to object to the use of the abortifacient drugs.
Under the current law, while organizations would be required to present information about this drug, individual staff members could opt out as long as there was at least one person available who would agree to discuss Plan B with patients. The influence that Planned Parenthood played in the passage of this law was made clear when Colorado state representative Anne McGihon and Vicki Cowart, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, hugged one another in celebration.
Planned Parenthood has a long history of influence in Colorado. In 1967, Colorado was the first state to legalize abortion, more than five years before the Roe v. Wade decision decriminalized the act nationally. Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains is notorious for producing some of the most offensive sex ed material. And in June of last year, it was the first PP affiliate to use the marketing strategy of dispensing promotional doses of “emergency contraception.”
The law mandating the spread of information about emergency contraception is not the only disturbing news from Colorado. An article in the Rocky Mountain News notes that Governor Bill Ritter is proposing increased funding for Planned Parenthood. Despite members of Colorado Right to Life delivering 600 signed forms to Ritter's office, asking him not to provide tax dollars to Planned Parenthood, his position is yet unchanged.
This $400,000 funding increase would be given under the guise of “preventing pregnancy” but even Sen. Betty Boyd, a proponent of the funding, admitted, "It's true that Planned Parenthood provides abortions.” However, she went on to claim that it is,” only a small portion of the services they provide.”
We encourage the residents of Colorado to voice their concerns loudly and frequently to their government representatives and community leaders about PP’s work. We encourage citizens to write letters to the editor and call into talk radio programs to expose the evil of Planned Parenthood to their communities. We also ask that as you become aware of activities of Planned Parenthood in your local communities that you contact us so that we can offer resources to help in your fight and spread the word across the country that Planned Parenthood is not welcome in your communities.
Money pulled from Planned Parenthood to expand real health care
In a bit of good news, last week Governor Matt Blunt of Missouri removed funding for two Planned Parenthood clinics in his state. According to an Associated Press article, Governor Blunt’s reasoning for ending these contracts was that “patients should not have to go to an abortion clinic to access lifesaving tests.”
In addition to canceling these contracts Governor Blunt proposed a $500,000 funding increase for the state’s health screening program. This proposed increase could help serve nearly 1,250 more women per year. This is great news for the people of Missouri.
Of course, we were excited to hear news that Missouri would stop funding Planned Parenthood clinics and is continuing to let PP know that it is not welcome in its communities. But in this case there is an added bonus. As Jim Sedlak explains in the STOPP CD set, when governing bodies are asked to remove funding from Planned Parenthood, they often ask what they can do with the money instead of giving it to PP; Jim advises that the best place is the health department or a similar service. Very often someone will then complain that the health department doesn’t have enough funding to provide those services. “Well,” Jim says, “they would if you gave them this money.”
In the case of Missouri, this is exactly the kind of thinking that is taking place. Not only was funding removed from Planned Parenthood, but that money will now fund Jordan Valley Community Health Center and Ozark TriCounty Health Care and will be used to expand health screenings throughout the state.
For more information on how to get your state to remove government funding of Planned Parenthood please e-mail us. If you haven’t done so yet, please also visit www.stopplannedparenthoodtaxfunding.com and sign the petition to cut all government funding to PP and be placed on a mailing list to receive up to date information on the fight against Planned Parenthood’s tax funding.
Federal appellate court rules against Planned Parenthood in contraceptive coverage suit
In a recent article, The New York Times reported that the 8th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that Union Pacific's health plans did not violate the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and the company would not be required to cover contraception.
This case began in July 2005 with a ruling by U.S. District Judge Laurie Smith Camp that Union Pacific discriminated against female employees by not providing contraceptive coverage in its health plans. Smith Camp ruled that the health plan policy was discriminatory because it covered many preventive health medications, including drugs for erectile dysfunction, but not contraception. The company has argued that it did not need to provide contraceptive coverage "because fertility is 'normal,'" and, therefore, birth control is not "medically necessary."
Roberta Riley, the Planned Parenthood lawyer who represented the women, said, “It’s shocking that this court says that contraception isn’t related to pregnancy, since if it weren’t for pregnancy, contraception wouldn’t exist.” It is clear that Planned Parenthood truly believes that pregnancy is a disease that must be avoided at all costs.
Thankfully the court did not agree and we congratulate it for upholding the truth that fertility is normal and contraception is not health care.
Planned Parenthood removes offensive image
We are happy to announce that the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood, whose MySpace profile featured a disgusting image mocking Christ on the cross and Our Lady of Guadalupe, has removed the image after readers of the Wednesday STOPP Report and the Rock for Life Report were encouraged to contact MySpace about removing it.
In addition to the image being removed, VLPP has also posted a response to the flood of messages sent by our outraged readers. The post states, “you have the right to your beliefs, but you don't have the right to force them upon anyone else. We do NOT actively search out MySpace pages of those we disagree with and send messages of hate. I respectfully request that you refrain from such as well.”
Since many of you forwarded to us the messages sent to Planned Parenthood regarding this offensive image, we are aware that your comments were far from “messages of hate.” Never be discouraged against sending peaceful and polite messages that express your outrage and disgust over the actions of Planned Parenthood.
This news gives further proof to the effectiveness of a few concerned citizens peacefully voicing their outrage against the evil of Planned Parenthood. Thank you for your quick and effective response. Please take a moment to say a prayer of thanksgiving to God for the grace that he continually pours out on the world and that all who work with Planned Parenthood may repent and convert their hearts and minds.
