Planned Parenthood spreads perversion on college campus
On Valentine’s Day a Planned Parenthood VOX college group encouraged an array of deviancy during its annual “sex fair” at Tufts University in Massachusetts. According to an article in the school’s newspaper, PP claimed that the goal of this fair was to “create dialogue about sex on campus.”
The event was repulsively decorated with “phallic balloons, condom ‘roses,'” and what VOX called “a vulva wishing tree.” Students were encouraged to proudly mark on a map of the world the locations where they have had sex and a similar map asked students, “Where have you touched yourself at Tufts?”
Booths throughout the fair were dedicated to various disordered sexual acts that for the sake of our readers we care not to mention. Several “games” were also featured at other booths including “a [phallic] ring toss and a station for students to decorate suggestively-shaped cookies.” VOX invited several other groups to run booths as well, including representatives from a local sex shop.
The president of the Planned Parenthood VOX chapter explained that the reason for the variety of deviant topics addressed at the fair was that the group “wanted to approach sex from all angles." And yet there was no booth promoting abstinence and not even an attempt to promote chaste behavior. Clearly Planned Parenthood only cares about the acts that make sex a commodity and not how to treat it as the great marital gift it is.
Almost ironically, one booth that was run by Planned Parenthood was intended to garner “support for legislation to improve health education in schools.” The fact that PP advocated for this while the graphic and sinful details of PP’s idea of “health education” could be seen at the neighboring booths shows one thing: Planned Parenthood is proud of its perverse idea of sex. It is proud to get people to engage in disordered sexual acts because it needs people to buy its products and services to continue to make a profit.
However proud Planned Parenthood may be, it is still crafty enough to use subversive language in its public reports and legislative texts when it promotes “medically accurate sex ed.” Do not be fooled. The disgusting topics and events featured at this “sex fair” are precisely the kinds of things that PP wants to teach to your children starting as young as 6 years of age and continuing long into college. Whenever anyone in your community promotes “medically accurate sex ed,” remember this and make them aware of the kind of depravity they are actually supporting in Planned Parenthood’s Sodom and Gomorrah world.
We encourage the students and parents of those attending Tufts University to publicly denounce the perversion that Planned Parenthood’s VOX program is spreading at their school.
However, Tufts isn’t the only place this is going on. Planned Parenthood reports that it has a VOX presence at 211 campuses across the country. If you are a college student, or are the parent of one, and want to learn more, please contact us at stopp@all.org and we will give you all of the resources to help you fight the influence of Planned Parenthood on your local campus.
Catholic university sending grads to Planned Parenthood for jobs
Another example of PP’s influence on our schools is taking place in Michigan at the University of Detroit Mercy. The university describes itself on its web site as “A Catholic University in the Jesuit and Mercy Traditions.” Yet on its Titan Career Link, a web page for use by its students and recent grads, it has the following link and description:
Planned Parenthood -- Lists dozens of clinical and non-clinical positions at Planned Parenthood clinics and similar organizations.
The link brings you to the home page of Planned Parenthood Federation of America – operator of the nation’s largest abortion chain. We believe that it is totally unacceptable for a college that calls itself Catholic to send people to Planned Parenthood to seek employment. If you agree, we encourage you actively voice your outrage.
Please contact the president of the school, Rev. Gerard L. Stockhausen, S.J., Ph.D., and let him know your displeasure. The phone number for the president’s office is (313) 993-1455. His mailing address is University of Detroit Mercy, 4001 West McNichols Road, Detroit MI 48221-3038. We could not find a direct e-mail to the president’s office, but if you send an e-mail to the admissions office, and put “For Fr. Stockhausen” in the subject line, we’re sure it will get to him.
Unfortunately, these actions by Catholic colleges and universities are not new. American Life League’s president, Judie Brown, has an entire chapter about the failure of Catholic colleges to teach the faith in her new book. See the next item.
New book from Judie Brown
Many who fight Planned Parenthood become frustrated when they find local Catholic institutions doing things that support PP rather than oppose it. The preceding item illustrates this clearly.
American Life League’s president, Judie Brown, has just published her sixth book. In this one, titled Saving Those Damned Catholics, she takes a hard look at both the bad and the good things that are happening within the church she loves concerning the faithful adherence to true Catholic teaching. It is a well-researched book that documents the problems and offers solutions.
We encourage everyone to read this wonderful book. For more information, check online.
Research assistance available
American Life League conducts daily research to find information on Planned Parenthood’s operations across the country. However, in order to successfully fight Planned Parenthood in our local schools and communities it is also important to have accurate information on its local operations.
We have been working for years with a trustworthy researcher who is able to find such detailed information. A number of local groups have used his assistance in the past and have been pleased with the services he provides at a reasonable cost. If you would like research work done, just send an e-mail to stopp@all.org and put the word “Research” in the subject line. We will pass your contact information on to the researcher and he will be in touch with you.
Web site assistance available
Another important aspect of the fight against Planned Parenthood is well-designed, informative web sites. We have been working with a college professor who teaches computers and does web site design for a reasonable price for schools, churches and pro-life groups. You can see some recent examples of web sites he has created at for Immaculate Heart of Mary School and Victims of Choice.
If you are interested in having him help you with a web site, just send an e-mail to stopp@all.org and put “Web site help” in the subject line. We will give him your contact information and he will contact you.
Prayer, fasting and almsgiving
Today begins the season of Lent, a season where we are called to prayer, fasting and almsgiving. We know that the evil that fuels Planned Parenthood can only be finally defeated through grace and ask that you join us in these three devotions so that PP’s work may end once and for all.
- Prayer: Please pray every day for the success of the work of people opposing Planned Parenthood across the country. Please also pray that those who work with PP may repent and one day be counted among the saints.
- Fasting: Please consider sacrificing one meal a week for the intention of returning the purity of those who have been led astray by Planned Parenthood’s perversion and that those who have not yet been exposed may be spared from PP’s evil influence.
- Almsgiving: Please consider donating one hour’s wages per week to help support a worthy organization in your community that fights Planned Parenthood or to American Life League (to donate please call 888-546-2580) so that we may continue to be effective in our work. In addition to the materially poor we are also called to aid the spiritually poor.
This Lent we ask that you each write a polite and loving letter to the president of your local Planned Parenthood affiliate calling them to repentance and assuring them that you will continue to pray for their salvation.
The grace of these devotions combined with the continued work of people like you across the country will lead us to certain victory over Planned Parenthood’s evil work.
Parents of eighth grade students oppose Planned Parenthood
From the moment they read a note sent home from the Fieldstone Secondary School in New York, parents were outraged. The note informed them that Planned Parenthood would be coming to teach its brand of sex education to their children.
Incensed, several parents immediately took action and contacted the principal of the school and demanded that Planned Parenthood not be allowed near their children. These parents also contacted various leaders in their community such as their local priest, who in turn also contacted the school in outrage over this invitation. The complaints from this community have cited the facts that it is a parent’s role to teach their children about sex and that Planned Parenthood hides important medical information from parents of minors.
Despite this public outcry, the school has reported that it has no intention of canceling its invitation to Planned Parenthood. However, this news does not spell defeat for parents in this community.
As mentioned in Parent Power, our comprehensive resource on how to keep PP away from your children, complete victory will likely take a couple of years. In the meantime we recommend the same advice that one parent in the community suggests: that every parent opt their child out of this presentation by Planned Parenthood. The district won’t be able to ignore an empty classroom.
We are encouraged to see that parents are standing up for their rights and for the purity of their children. It is through these parents’ excellent actions that we can see the implementing of the elements of the Plan for Defeating Planned Parenthood. We are confident that if the parents and community leaders continue to make their outrage known and refuse to back down Planned Parenthood will indeed be kicked out of their children’s school.
Planned Parenthood closes another clinic
As we were going to press with this issue of the Wednesday STOPP Report, news came that Planned Parenthood has announced that it will close its clinic in Longview, Washington as of March 8. According to published news reports, the clinic closing is due to a cutback in Medicaid funds in the state of Washington.
This clinic closing is great news and demonstrates the power of removing government funding from Planned Parenthood. We encourage all our readers to continue your efforts to get taxpayer money taken away from Planned Parenthood at every level of government. As part of that effort, please encourage everyone you know to sign the petition at www.StopPlannedParenthoodTaxFunding.com.
