Planned Parenthood emphasizing sex
For the past month or so, Planned Parenthood has been regurgitating old material on its web site. Many of the articles that are posted every couple of days tend to be simply reprints of pieces written many months, or sometimes years, ago. Last week, however, there were several new submissions both to PP’s main page, as well as to its web site for teens. On these web sites you will find an interview with a director of a movie and an author of a book, both with a unifying theme – an emphasis on sexual activity.
On its main site, Planned Parenthood presents an interview with Maria Magganeti, writer/director of Puccini for Beginners. This movie follows the life of a young woman through a homosexual relationship, fornicating with a man and into a simultaneous relationship with another man and woman. The movie promotes not only homosexual acts but also the gamut of sexual sins, or as PP calls it, “sexual fluidity.” Besides promotion, Planned Parenthood is connected intimately with this film. One of the producers of the film is the son of a PP affiliate’s CEO. Promotion of this film is just the latest effort in Planned Parenthood’s quest to normalize all matter of sexual sins.
Similarly, its teen web site has an interview with the author of Polly, Amy Bryant. Again, Planned Parenthood is intimately involved. Ms. Bryant is an employee of Planned Parenthood and an editor of TeenWire.com. PP describes her book as “following a teenage girl's sexual exploits from middle school through college and frankly addresses sex, birth control, and abortion.” Time and time again throughout the interview it is mentioned that this book talks about sex so explicitly because it is “entertaining.” That is the precise notion that Planned Parenthood wants to get across to our children, that sex is for recreation, not an intimate expression of love to be shared solely with one’s spouse. Of course that is not all; PP also wants to indoctrinate kids i nto buying its products while they engage in these sexual sins. At the end of the interview Ms. Bryant says something very telling about PP’s agenda when asked why she sent her character to a clinic: “Polly wanted to go on the pill, so it made sense to send her to Planned Parenthood.”
When you are faced with people who say that Planned Parenthood does many good things, use these examples of how Planned Parenthood pushes a sexual lifestyle as normal.
Planned Parenthood lists STOPP as primary foe
A subscriber of the Wednesday STOPP Report alerted us to a fundraising letter that Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., recently sent out. After mentioning a list of organizations, such as Rock for Life, that will be actively opposing PP, the letter stated, “One organization that will be leading the charge is STOPP, which stands for Stop Planned Parenthood. Based in Stafford, Virginia, this vitriolic group is dedicated to the destruction of Planned Parenthood.”
For once, we can say that Planned Parenthood is right. American Life League’s STOPP department is leading the fight against Planned Parenthood’s dangerous lies and murderous business. And Rock For Life, American Life League’s outreach to youth, is right there with us fighting the abortion giant. Of course, this mention by Planned Parenthood is really a tribute to all of you who fight tirelessly against this evil organization and to God for multiplying our small efforts into a mighty force against Planned Parenthood.
We promise that we will continue to supply the resources needed to get Planned Parenthood out of your communities and to close its doors for good. May this news increase your fervor so that you will continue to write letters to editors, call politicians, attend school board meetings, protest at clinics and pray for the conversion of hearts and minds.
Picketing Planned Parenthood fundraiser in DC
On the evening of January 22, after participating in the March for Life, several youth who participated in Rock for Life’s training and activism weekend held a demonstration outside a Planned Parenthood fundraiser. This event was held at the Sonoma wine bar in Washington DC. The demonstrators found out about the fundraiser through local Planned Parenthood e-mails. After learning the time and location, they arrived a few hours prior to the event to chalk on the sidewalk in front of the wine bar. The PP donors were then greeted by pro-life messages even before they walked in the doors.
A couple of young pro-life girls from Ireland entered the bar asking for local directions. They did this to get a better idea of exactly where the fundraiser was taking place. They found out that Planned Parenthood’s event would be held on the second floor of the building. This, of course, presented a problem as to how to effectively get the pro-life message to the attendees.

Not to worry, God had everything under control. As the pro-life demonstrators were walking to the bar, the protest leader, Rock For Life’s Phil Eddy, noticed a 10-foot bamboo pole lying on the ground. Not knowing God’s plans, Phil felt led to pick up the pole and carry it with him.
Once the demonstrators found out that the Planned Parenthood event was on the second floor, it immediately became clear what they needed to do. Phil affixed one of American Life League’s signs to the pole and raised the sign to the windows of the Planned Parenthood event (see picture below). The 10-foot pole, combined with Phil’s 6’4” stature, allowed the sign to become level with the second story windows, and smack dab in front of the faces of the attendees of Planned Parenthood’s fundraiser.
The media definitely took notice of the presence of the peaceful protesters holding pro-life signs in front of this business catering to PP.
We always strongly encourage people to peacefully protest Planned Parenthood whenever and wherever possible.

We encourage you to use this example as a template for events in your community:
- Have yourself or other pro-life people added to Planned Parenthood’s mailing lists to find out information on upcoming events
- Know when and where PP events will be so you can plan ahead
- Find a way to take preemptive action beforehand (chalking, talking with local businesses and residents about the upcoming event, setting up billboards, etc.)
- Invite the media, let them know that your community is going to be publicly expressing its distrust and discontent with Planned Parenthood and whatever business that might be sponsoring it; peacefully, prayerfully and creatively protest the event so Planned Parenthood knows that it is not welcome in your community.
