The Pelosi-Planned Parenthood connection

As a result of the November elections, the Democratic Party will take control of both the U.S. House and Senate beginning in January. As part of the change in power, it is expected that Nancy Pelosi will become the first woman to be speaker of the House.

Pelosi will thus exert a tremendous amount of influence over legislation and over funding for various projects. With that in mind, we take note of the fact that Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, served in her career as deputy chief of staff for Ms. Pelosi. According to Richards' official biography, during her time serving Pelosi, "she played a key role in the Congress member's election as the first woman Democratic leader of the House of Representatives."

We expect, then, that Planned Parenthood will put on a big push this year for more and more taxpayer money. Now is the time for pro-lifers across the country to immediately begin contacting your members of Congress and insisting that government funding of Planned Parenthood be cut. We do not want any government money going to PP and now is the time for action.

American Life League will make use of the thousands of names that have signed our petition against Planned Parenthood funding to let congress know the American people do not want any money going to PP. We currently have over 25,000 signatures, but we need many more.

In addition to contacting your members of Congress, we need you to sign the petition at www.StopPlannedParenthoodTaxFunding.com. We also need you to get everyone you can to sign. The more signatures we get, the more of a chance we will have to stop the flow of money to Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood renovating Arizona abortion clinic

This week Planned Parenthood temporarily closed its abortion clinic in Tempe, Arizona for renovations. According to Planned Parenthood, the remodeling of the facility will include increasing its size. The facility is expected to reopen in February.

This is a great opportunity for the pro-lifers in Tempe and surrounding community to educate the public on Planned Parenthood's gruesome business. Our experience has been that the actual workers on the site will not be aware that they are renovating a building where babies are killed, unless we tell them.

It is also a great time to note all of the subcontractors who choose to work at the site. Take down the business names and let them know that pro-lifers in the area will take note of their participation in the murder of children when the pro-lifers are looking for someone to do work at their homes, places of business or churches.

The Planned Parenthood abortion mill is located at 1250 E Apache Blvd, #108, Tempe, AZ 85281. It is run by Planned Parenthood of Central and Northern Arizona that is headquartered in Phoenix. This Planned Parenthood affiliate also commits abortions at the Women's Surgical Center , 4417 N 7th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85013. During construction in Tempe, it is expected that the Phoenix abortuary will see a heavier volume of business.

'Grey's Anatomy' star a shill for Planned Parenthood

Kate Walsh, who portrays OB-GYN Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, the jilted, philandering wife of Dr. Derek Shepherd on the TV show "Grey's Anatomy," is pushing sex and Planned Parenthood all across the country.

The Arizona Daily Star in Tucson recently reported that Walsh spoke at a benefit for Planned Parenthood.

According to the paper, "she's always wanted to push for women to speak out more about sexual topics, either with their doctors or sexual partners."

Walsh serves on Planned Parenthood's board of advocates and said she's working with her publicist and others to market a makeup compact that can hold a condom.

"It's still a stigma for women to carry a condom," she said with a slight roll of her eyes. "I'm just trying to indoctrinate sexual health into their minds. It'll help women feel empowered… I learned a lot of things on the job," she said. "But these people definitely have taught me much more than I imagined."

Planned Parenthood has a history of getting people in all walks of life to believe its lies. We must increase our efforts to get the truth about Planned Parenthood to Walsh and people everywhere.

Planned Parenthood sponsors gay talk in Ithaca

The author of The Preacher's Son, Marc Adams, will appear at the First Unitarian Church Annex, at 208 E. Buffalo St. in Ithaca, N.Y., on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. for a lecture and discussion sponsored by the Ithaca-Cortland chapter of PFLAG, the Ithaca College Center for LGBT Education, Outreach and services, the First Unitarian Church of Ithaca and Planned Parenthood's education department.

The Preacher's Son purportedly chronicles Adams' life of growing up as the gay son of a fundamentalist Baptist minister in rural Pennsylvania. The story culminates as he accepts his same-sex attraction and "comes out" to his fundamentalist family.

Planned Parenthood opens in Michigan county health building

Planned Parenthood of South Central Michigan will open, starting today, a new clinic in Albion, Michigan. According to the PPSCM website, the clinic is located at: 101 N. Albion Street, in the County Health Building. Its phone number is (517) 629-3910 and its hours are: Wed. Noon-6pm, Friday 11am to 5pm.

Pro-lifers in Albion are encouraged to demonstrate outside this facility and investigate what kind of arrangement Planned Parenthood has with the county health department.

Pro-lifers defy village, continue to pray at Planned Parenthood

Dedicated pro-life Catholics continue to pray outside the Planned Parenthood facility on Perlman Drive in Spring Valley, New York despite local village efforts to make them obtain a permit.

A spokesperson for the group, Richard Bruno, told local media, "We pray for the moms and the unborn babies and the misguided workers who don't know what's going on fully."

Newspapers report that the hour-long vigil, which has attracted 10 to 20 participants, is typically held from 11 a.m. to noon on a patch of grass outside the Pascack Plaza strip mall.

Bruno said that since his group was on public property, it was protected under the First Amendment. But village officials claim they have a local law that states that no "public assemblages or meetings on the public streets of the village shall be permitted without the consent of the board of trustees."

The pro-lifers contend that they do not need a permit to exercise their First Amendment rights.

We congratulate Richard and all involved in the prayer vigils for standing up for their constitutional rights.

Dedicated pro-lifers sue Pennsylvania city officials

The mayor, police commissioner and two police officers in the City of York have been named in a federal lawsuit by two pro-lifers who claim they were denied their right to distribute information to women seeking abortions at Planned Parenthood.

Edward Snell and John McTernan claim city police have threatened to arrest pro-lifers who enter Rose Alley behind Planned Parenthood, 728 S. Beaver St., according to separate suits filed on October 31 in U.S. Middle District Court.

Please pray for the success of this lawsuit.

For many years, pro-lifers have been subject to this kind of harassment all across the country. It is time we started using the courts to enforce our rights and we congratulate Ed and John for their tenacity.

Phoenix diocese opposes Komen's support of Planned Parenthood

An editorial in the November 2 edition of the Catholic Sun, the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix's newspaper, called on the Susan G. Komen Foundation to stop its donations to Planned Parenthood. News reports said the editorial was approved by Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted.

Addressing a major claim of Komen, the editorial read, in part, "Some will argue the grant is earmarked for areas other than abortion or contraception, so the affiliation between the organizations is inconsequential. But the sad reality is that the grant money now frees up Planned Parenthood funds for those other areas opposing life and counter to our Catholic faith."

Two weeks earlier, the paper featured a group of women from Anthem who were planning to participate in the Race for the Cure event. When pro-lifers complained about this positive portrayal of the Komen Foundation, the editorial was run clarifying the church's position.

We are happy that the diocese is alerting Catholics to the dangers of the donations to Komen, but we are even happier that pro-lifers took the time to complain about the previous story.

We must all begin to be courageous and persistent if we are to pry America loose from the deadly grip of Planned Parenthood. Now is the time for bold action in defense of the babies.
