Leadership Conference on Civil Rights welcomes PP as member
In an outrageous decision, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights announced this week that is had accepted Planned Parenthood as a member organization.
It is hard to see where Planned Parenthood fits with an organization that describes itself as follows:
LCCR coordinates the coalition's advocacy and leads coalitions in the following areas:
- Ensuring equal opportunity
- Protecting civil rights, civil liberties, worker protections, and equal opportunity
- Promoting civic engagement
- Building stronger communities and families
- Reforming the nation's criminal justice system
- Guarding the crossroads of civil rights and civil liberties
Planned Parenthood kills over 100,000 minority children every year. Yet it is welcomed as a member of a civil rights group. How horrible.
There are many members of LCCR that need to hear from you. We ask you to write to them, especially the following organizations, and ask them to immediately resign from LCCR now that PP has been accepted as a member:

PP celebrates abortion, contraception and immorality
October 16 marked the 90th anniversary of the day Margaret Sanger opened the first birth control business in the United States. Several articles, press releases and updates to PP’s web site called for celebration of this event.
In a video posted on its web site, Planned Parenthood lists a number of its “achievements” and then closes by stating, “...and in new and innovative ways we’ll march forward to serve humanity.”
Planned Parenthood is so proud of its past that it has even posted a history of its activities broken down by decade. We feel that it is necessary to note some particular events in PP’s history:
- 1918 to 1940 – The Birth Control Review was printed, which included articles from Dr. Ernst Ruden, head of the Nazi sterilization program.
- 1922 - In her book, The Pivot of Civilization, Margaret Sanger writes about working with William Ralph Inge, the dean of St. Paul’s Cathedral in London and theologian for the Church of England, about getting contraception recognized as acceptable by the church. In the 1930 Lambeth Conference, the Church of England did just that, making it the first major church to make such a statement.
- 1940s - PP helped to negate the Comstock laws and effectively opened the U.S. mail to sex information. Today there is a thriving pornography business because of the removal of these laws.
- 1965 - Estelle Griswold, head of PP of Connecticut, initiated the court decision, Griswold v. Connecticut. This decision struck down all laws in the United States against contraception and found in “the emanations of the penumbra of the constitution” a right to privacy in sexual matters. This “right to privacy” found in the shadows opened the door for Roe v. Wade eight years later, and recently gave cause to strike down the anti-sodomy laws.
- 1973 - Alan Guttmacher, M.D., while president of PP, signed Humanist Manifesto II, supporting the tenets of secular humanism and its rejection of God and universal morality.
- 1996 - PP and the ACLU took the Communications Decency Act, which was designed to get pornography off the internet, to court and got it declared unconstitutional.
- 2000 – Laws were passed stating that any library that gets federal money has to install blocking software so pornography cannot be accessed at public libraries, PP and the ACLU took it to court and got it declared unconstitutional.
These are only a few of the many events in Planned Parenthood’s history that show its involvement in abortion, contraception and sexual immorality. Over 90 years Planned Parenthood has been responsible for the deaths of countless preborn children, the physical and emotional scaring of millions of young mothers and fathers and the immoral indoctrination of our culture.
Even though it is guilty of these horrific acts, many people still believe the lie that Planned Parenthood is a “trustworthy health organization.” We must continue to educate people on PP’s history, on its current attacks against human life and sexuality and do all that we can to ensure that Planned Parenthood does not see another anniversary. Ninety years of lying and killing is ninety too many.
Student calls out PP in school newspaper
In a recent article printed in The Daily Reveille, Louisiana State University’s paper, a student exposes Planned Parenthood’s operations. In her article, Emily Byers reminds readers of Margaret Sanger’s racist and eugenic ideologies, and how PP still claims her as figurehead and hero. She also comments on a few of PP’s lies about health and sexuality. We are happy to see a young student teach her peers the truth about Planned Parenthood.
Articles like this are important tools in the efforts to stop Planned Parenthood. College campuses are one of the biggest battlefronts in this fight. Planned Parenthood knows that it needs to convince young men and women to engage in over-sexualized lifestyles and to come to PP in times of distress. With 70 percent of its customers being under the age of 25, PP sees colleges as crucial grounds for recruiting more customers.
We strongly encourage young people to write articles into their college and high school newspapers about the truth of Planned Parenthood and inspire conversation among their peers. We also encourage students to participate in regular peaceful and prayerful events in front of local Planned Parenthoods. If there is a Planned Parenthood located near your school or perhaps its presence is even on your campus, let us know and we will give you the tools to effectively get them out of your community.
We at American Life League are working to increase our efforts to educate and activate youth in high schools and colleges to fight Planned Parenthood. If you, or someone you know, would be interested in learning how to fight PP and keep it away from your schools please contact us for more information at stopp@all.org.
